Very Disappointed with my experience of this Restaurant. My husband, has been involved in the food and hospitality industry for over 35 years, was on the Board of the SA Restaurant & Catering Association and has eaten at some of the finest restaurants in Australia! So, because of the reviews, I decided to take him to this restaurant for his 70th birthday as a surprise I invited 10 guests and we booking for a Sunday at 12.30.
The first offering that arrived a seafood mousse, spread thinly on a flat plate, which you then enclosed in a lettuce leaf to consume. Nearly twenty minutes later, and after several bottles of wine had been consumed, (with only a lettuce leaf and seafood mousse as sustenance), a falafel dish was served which was tasteless and tiny. I might add each serve was portion controlled so that there were only enough serves for the guests to have one each and they were tiny. Next came butterflied king prawns (one each) which were barely a morsel, dry and hard to eat, as they were in the shells . The next offering was a chicken dish. Basically a chicken cut up into small pieces, one piece for each guest, with two small drumsticks as two serves. The final dish was rare steak, with roast potatoes, carrots and beans the potatoes were still uncooked. Another small serve. I had ordered a cake, which was lovely and the only good offering of the day. For $75 a head, the food offered was a disgrace and I was embarrassed and ashamed to have taken my guests there to celebrate such an important event. There were six men at our table, and they were still quite hungry when we left. When I read the reviews, I thought I had made the right choice, however my experience was so removed from the reviews, I felt the need to honestly critique what my experience had been. The wine however was fast flowing, with the cheapest bottle being over $55. I should have booked Hentley Farm Restaurant, as that was my other choice. Personally, I would not recommend this restaurant, and I will be telling my friends exactly that. For the cost, there are better offerings in the Barossa. Extremely...
Read moreAs a wedding photographer, I've danced with my camera at countless venues, but Seppeltsfield Wines always makes my heart do a little jig of joy. It's not just a venue, but a vibrant stage where love stories unfold, and I get to capture them in all their splendour.
Every time I step into Seppeltsfield, it feels like I'm walking into a grand celebration. The premium wines, the first-class food, and the iconic Barossa winery setting all come together to create a feast for the senses, and my camera lens!
The estate offers a variety of stunning locations, each with its unique charm. The historic vintage barrel cellar, with its rustic elegance, has been the backdrop for many memorable receptions. The outdoor lawns, with their sprawling space and marquee options, have witnessed countless heartfelt vows and joyous celebrations.
What truly makes Seppeltsfield a joy to work at, though, is the seamless transition from ceremony to reception. It's like a well-choreographed dance, where every move is flawlessly executed, making my job as a photographer not just easier, but truly enjoyable.
The dedicated functions team at Seppeltsfield is the maestro behind this symphony. Their commitment to delivering impeccable experiences is truly commendable and adds to the overall charm of the venue.
In short, Seppeltsfield Wines is not just a dream to photograph at, but a place where I, as a photographer, get to be a part of the magic. It's a venue that deserves a standing ovation and, of course, a...

I went to Seppeltsfield to buy 10 litres of the 15 year old rare muscat. Seppeltsfield sells this in 5 litre and 10 litre plastic containers. The price was $310 for the 10 litre so i was making a reasonable purchase. I have also previously purchased my fortified barrel and many 10 litre containers of fortified in the past. Mainly to fill my barrel or as presents.
I asked if I could have 2 x 5 litre plastic containers rather than the 10 litre container for the same price. This is because it is easier to top up my barrel from smaller containers and a shoulder injury makes this difficult for me. The gentleman serving me was happy to do this but needed the managers approval. The manager however said that I had to pay an additional $80 and thus $390 as the 5 litre containers were more expensive. When I challenged that this was ridiculous she came down a little but wouldn’t budge much. She was adamant that I would have to pay $50 extra to have it as 2 x 5 litre containers. I was happy to pay say an extra $10 but not anymore than that. It’s a simple plastic container after all.
In the big scheme of things this is a small issue but highlights an inflexible big business that cares little for their customers. Many small producers would bend over backwards to satisfy such a small request and been happy with the large sale. Needless to say, I will go elsewhere...
