We popped into here hoping for a nice breakfast experience. We asked at the counter if we needed to order there and were told, “we have table service.” Lovely, we thought that meant we could actually sit down and be served. We chose a table that hadn’t been cleared from the last group. No big deal at first, we just moved the dirty plates, cutlery and glasses ourselves so we could sit. About five minutes later, a waitress came over and cleared only the plates… then disappeared. After another five minutes of waiting, I figured I’d help again and took the remaining glasses and bottle to the counter, grabbing a couple of menus while I was at it, just trying to stay proactive. One waitress saw me and said she’d come and take our order. I declined and said I’d rather just order at the counter. That’s when another waitress approached with a surprising amount of attitude, as if me helping out was the real problem. I didn’t feel like engaging in a debate over glassware logistics, so we left. I told the barista what had happened on the way out. It’s a shame, really. I come here regularly for takeaway coffee during the week and have always enjoyed it. We were genuinely excited to finally sit down and try the breakfast, but the service just didn’t match the vibe we were hoping for. We ended up at Sullies Café across the road instead. You order at the bench, get your table number, and everything runs smoothly. No drama, no stress, no attitude. Honestly, it’s probably the only way service can work in this town. Maybe take a page out of your...
Read moreWent here with a group of 6 in the weekend. Pizza was yummy, however there weren't all that many meat options.. Would be great for vegetarians. I was really hoping to find a seafood option but there were none unfortunately. Still a good night out. One down side was when the guy came over with our drinks he spilt one all over our table, my bag and me. He did apologise but usually if this happens in other places you'd be offered a free drink for the people that lost their drink and the person who got it all over them.. Nope not in this case.. We actually thought it was his first shift but he said it wasn't. Also two other times they came over with food they thought was ours but we definitely didn't order it. Seemed as though the communication in the kitchen was a bit all over the place. Maybe having been closed for a while and then opening was all a bit overwhelming. I'll return for breakfast at some stage and see if the service is any better than the dinner/drinks service. Oh and one last down side was that my friend booked it for 6.30 and when she booked, she was told we had until 9pm..then when we arrived the guy told us we will need to be gone by 8pm..that was a bit strange and disappointing too, probably would have chosen another place if we knew that was the case for that particular catch...
Read moreMy partner and I have been coming to Cockatoo since we moved to Armstrong Creek in 2022, up to today around 10:30am 13/04/2024 every experience prior to this has always been amazing. Today however there is the new upgraded QR system which was new. Unfortunately the service related to this system was a nightmare. Staff had no idea what tables where what and where the food was going so had resulted in staff walking around with food in hand asking each table if they ordered what they were carrying. Although was busy for sure, the wait time on specific meals were high. For some reason the brekky burgers to each table were made before other meals. Thank goodness we ordered some fries as it took nearly 15mins after my partner got his brekky burger for me to receive my eggs benny. The staff we very polite however and could tell the system had let them down due to having to constantly apologise for the way the docket from the QR system was received on their end as was never quite right to what the table ordered. It will be a while before we go back for brunch which is a shame as this is something we look forward to doing together on...
