Been here a couple of times and the foods not bad nothing amazing but nice enough but this Sundays visit has been the worst yet. Booked well in advance and asked for veranda. Upon arrival found our table in a access way with an umbrella giving little shade, we weren’t the only ones squeezing around very little shade, but a table of 25 booked for an hour and a half past our booking time under a marquee remained empty.. I’m sure we could have been done in that time but others were in the same boat.. we settled in and got some drinks, meanwhile deciding on what to eat and watching newcomers come the view available and reserved tables and actively switching out the tables reservations names for better tables. While we perused our menu from the table in the access way and sun we had other patrons and their children bouncing basketballs in the access way as you know there is more space there to play.. instead of the designated play areas, Ignoring considerations of others.. Any ways we proceeded to try to order from the bar. As it was busy there was a sign that said order at joes if the queue is long, so we did first in our party gave the table number and on his way. I ordered and the special I was told had run out, ( I must point out here that the whole time we were there after ordering, that special remained on the board) So back to find out what my guest was to have instead, return to joes bar and order getting a buzzer, not table number, which I understand is the protocol of that area, but I will get back to that shortly. Sometime later after watching someone come round with a clicker checking head count?? Our first order finally arrived around 40 mins after ordering, nor bad considering the amount of people, we moved inside as it was cooler than our current location and went to enquire on my order now over an hour since order. Back to the buzzer.. I went over to the bar and asked where the order was, I could see through to the kitchen that was chaos tickets on he pass as far as you could see.. the lady took my buzzer and said she would chk on my order ( another 10 mins) and now I have no buzzer and the lady is nowhere to be found, another enquiry form staff member and I explain again another 15 mins to get some answers now eel over an hour and a half from order, bar stop taking food orders for a while in this time with notes on the bar. 3rd enquiry and my order is lost and I remind them the 3 dishes we ordered and another 10 min later 3 badly prepared nearly cold dishes arrive. Avoid this place at weekends throughout summer until they are better prepared, if u book in advanced go after 3.30 it was calming down or maybe people just got fed up of the poor service...
Read moreQuite a disappointing experience today. We come down quite often for drinks as we are locals but never ordered food before. Special occasion with the in laws visiting. Sat on the tables on the grassy area and ordered Childs meal to start. Came out as normal on a normal plate. Then ordered meals for 4 adults. Families around us on the grass getting table service with regular meals on proper dishes. Ours was ready and we had to go collect it (husband has a broken foot) and it’s all in takeaway containers which are very noticeably a lot smaller than the proper dishes. The main salad was in a bowl the size of a side dish whilst the other salads coming out of the kitchen were in huge pasta style dishes. A fly flew out of one the containers when it was opened. We went and spoke with the manager who said all the portions are the same size. I don’t agree as the salad was smaller than my child’s meal. She offered a drink but I didn’t want a free drink, I wanted a regular size salad I’d paid for. $27 for a salad in a side bowl. Frustrating when you can see people around you getting so much more for the same price. Manager said theirs was an error and everyone on the grass is meant to get takeout food. If we were told when we ordered when we would get we’d have moved to another table and just been given a regular dish. Disappointing end to what was meant to be a special dinner out. Not sure I’d eat here...
