Waterfront Cafe at the Jetty — Restaurant in Beachport

OUTSTANDING LOCATION and FOOD We were very surprised to find this stunning cafe on the edge of the bay overlooking the second longest jetty in Australia with 30 plus cray fishing boats anchored in the bay.The views were very memorable, with both eat in or outside eating. We selected to eat outside and enjoyed the "special of the day", grilled Red Snapper and salad together with crispy potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. The drink selection was excellent and we able to enjoya piccolo of sparkling chardonay and melot with our meal. A very nice laid out place, only stopped for a coffee and some slices but looked fancy.

The one thing that annoyed me was when I asked the young lad at the counter what the slice in the middle was, he replied "not sure"... And that was it. A young girl overheard and mumbled something then he just carried on putting my coffee order through the til. I then asked what they were and he said I think their apple slices. Not very good if your customers have to do the work to find out what their own stock is. I then purchased 2 and went on my way but these were obviously thawed out and not 'fresh in store '. It's a pity that a place like that can't produce something fresh like a apple slice. And this was at 1pm!.

Had a late lunch here. Place was quiet. Was acknowledged as we waited which is always a good thing. Shared the seafood plate. They told us that they had run out of some items before we ordered. That's ok. Nice friendly service. The meal was presented well. Nice and cleanly plated up. Salad was fresh and dressed with a nice dressing. Fish was cooked well. Just a touch over done, I know I am being fussy here however the fish was fresh so it didn't matter too much. Still was good. Calamari and prawns al nice. The two of us struggled to finish it off. Had an ice cream to finish off(dessert is another stomach). Coffee was ok. Once again , I judge coffee hard. Over all...
