I am a rather picky eater. When I first tasted Boorowa Chinese, it was incredible, the kind of thing you just crave for. Something my family still talk about when passing through town, or even when it is a little out of the way of our travels. Especially with their lunch special.
Family favourites being the chicken chow mein, or the combination chow mein. And during my most recent visit. I had even put away money to make sure I could bring enough home.
We dined in and ordered, the serving is always bigger when you eat in, ordered the combination chow mein, no veg with fried rice. Delicious. 🤤.
While we ate, I ordered five serving to take home. And it only ended up costing me roughly $70. That's a serving with fried rice!. Where I currently live, you could spend $70, getting three meat serving and a tub of fried rice. (Can't take out the vegetables unfortunately, which is one of the many reasons, this is the only Chinese restaurant I actually enjoy eating).
The food still tastes incredible after heating up, but recommended that you eat any leftovers within a week max. As the moisture in the meat won't last THAT long.
My entire family is obsessed with this place. From elderly to toddler. The staff are nice and friendly, they even remembered us even after months and months of bring away. Speedy and adaptable. I recommend and praise this place to even...

If you are after a big city experience you are in the wrong place but for anyone who remembers their childhood experiences of Chinese in the 70's and 80's this is a real gem right down to the particularly folded napkins and the Banquet menus that still feature prawn cocktails.
Play the game and see if you can get something on a sizzling plate, something with that iridescent plum coloured sweet and sour sauce, a lemon chicken and fried ice cream, its all there.
Will definitely be dining here again as the nostalgia value is worth its...
Read moreI know country towns rely on good reviews so I am sorry, but i always remain trye to my eperience. The food was really mediocre, sadly disappointed. The plum duck was positively aweful, the duck itself was so so fatty and the sauce was nothing like plum duck sauce. For 20+ for that dish i was not happy. The cashew chicken was ok, just ok, and the special fried rice, well that was not really great either. Had higher hopes based on other reviews. If you're passing through and desperate for a feed then it will do bit if you're looking for authentic flavourful Chinese this might not be for you. The prices...
