Coolabah Tree Cafe Nudgee — Restaurant in Brisbane City

From the scowl of a unreturned greeting by a clearly not engaged young female employee (the name Sandy was on docket; 9.50am 19/01/2025), to the tiny, soggy roast beef ( mostly gristle and fat roll) and roast pork rolls. The rolls were pitiful, tiny, soggy, cold and stale. Local baker would sell vastly better rolls for 50 cents... The meat/fat/ gristle content of meat component would be barely be 20 grams per roll. The roast beef roll was 85% inedible, smelt stale and was thrown into the composting heap upon return to home. Total rip off, avoid at all costs. I would have been unhappy paying even half the $12.45 each, for such appalling " food" quality. Avoid their pitiful and parsimonious offerings. Just terrible quality and quantity. Rude service. I worked in fast food for 4 years and was also in management. I got served by an oldish kind of lady. At the start everything was good. I ordered at beef roll on its own. But before she even started i asked if i could change it to a meal, she said i couldnt. Yeah fair enough. So she comes back from out the back and says youll be fine with it being on a bun? No thanks i wanted a roll. Her response was "yeah well we dont have any". Yeah okay, wouldnt you say that when i ordered? You should know what stock you do and dont have. Just spent $16 on an Eggs Benedict that was served on a cardboard plate wirth plywood cutlery. I broke the fork in 10 seconds, got a replacement and broke it 10 seconds later. The knife was INCAPABLE of cutting through the toast, trust me, INCAPABLE. I ended up eating the meal with my hands like an open sandwich. You try it!!! Ridiculous. Staff were polite but basically the message is yes, we know its unworkable but too bad, that's how we do things here. Obviously the china plates and metal cutlery was all too much for the cafe to deal with so now everything goes straight in the bin. Not sustainable. They don't care so that will be my last $ ever...
