Bull Creek Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Bull Creek

There are really only two things I like about this restaurant- the hot & sour soup which is hot & sour just right(and great value too) and the sang Choy bow which is executed well with great flavours and a nice serving size. I’ll maintain that those still pass with flying colours at this point.

However, dinner tonight was a shambles- we hosted a table of 10 and the food was average but way pricier than it’s ever been. I mean, sure a Yam Ring is hard to find but $46.80 for one?? It was supposedly a seafood one but I don’t really remember seeing much of it. There was a good handful of cashews and almonds, onions, snap peas and fluff. When a competitor does the same dish for HALF the price (sure the ring was larger but def not enough to charge double), it’s a HUGE cross against their name.

The rest of the food was not memorable (ok the kids enjoyed the honey chicken) but to add insult to injury, the 2 “large” tubs of steamed rice were just over half full and a cool $8 each.

Considering the bill was over $200, there were too many dissatisfied (and still hungry) customers at the table.

Oh and did I mention that the service from the waitress who took our order was ATROCIOUS? She was rude, got annoyed when we asked for another bowl, ordered an extra dish etc 😬An example- She was one dinner plate short but when she came back she huffily threw the plate across the table at me as if it was my fault. Considering I also had an aisle seat and the restaurant was barely half full, that’s just poor manners. What made it worse was she was extra nice and enthusiastic to everyone else!

Needless to say, we won’t be returning anytime soon. Go to Bullcreek Hawker across the carpark- you’ll see what AWESOME food at great...

If I could give a below star rating for this place I would! I ordered through menulog at 6:15pm expecting an estimated time of arrival from 30-45 minutes as stated on menulog for their restaurant once my order had gone through my estimated time of arrival was 7:44pm so at 6:40pm I called the restaurant thinking there had been a mistake but no that was the correct wait time so I told them that I would pick up the order instead but they told me it would still be another half an hour. I went to the restaurant at around 7pm and the food was still not ready I had to wait with other people in store while uber eats drivers were coming and going in a confined space (even though there are social distancing protocols in place) for around half an hour more, we watched food pass by while people seated are being served and uber eats drivers were top priority, more phone orders being taken, while us waiting customers discussed that it would be appropriate to close off a service like uber eats, menulog or even phone orders for the night instead of overloading themselves with orders and not being able to complete them in reasonable timing. Fathers day would have been great for my partner if he could have had the food delivered but I think we would have been waiting all night if that were that case. Never going to them again there was no compensation offered what so ever just a "sorry for the wait" from the clearly most dismissive and unhelpful woman in the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we came in. The service attitude was very good and enthusiastic, making tourists like us feel at home. There are all kinds of delicious dishes with authentic tastes to satisfy the taste buds. The environment of this restaurant is really good. Although it has a history of several decades, it is very clean. The food is not only beautiful in appearance, but most importantly, it tastes great, with good color, aroma and taste. The cooking method is simply first-class, retaining the original flavor of the ingredients. It is pleasing to the eye. The taste is superb, which makes people feel very appetizing at first glance. The portion is large. The advantage is that the dishes are also very fresh, the taste is moderately salty, the heat is just right, and the serving speed is very fast.
