Ate at this restaurant back in the 2000's, but since then it has changed ownership for the better.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, and spacious. The restaurant isn't a typical Chinese restaurant where you order a bunch of food and share it around. It is more of you order your dish and it's yours. Some may argue, "well that is because this is a Hong Kong restaurant", to which I would respond "okay...".
There are lots of food options available, so if you are a picky eater, there should be something for you. If you don't want rice, they have spaghetti, if you won't want either of those, there are chips. You don't want soft drinks, they have tea, you want ice cream, well they don't have any, so you might as well look elsewhere.
Since the new owners took command, my partner and I have come here on a monthly basis, as there is always something that we want to eat and change it up a little if needed. Since having our first child, carrying a pram up to the restaurant has been painful. Yes, the restaurant is located on the second floor of the building, so bare that in mind if you are bringing young ones.
Some people have told me that the food is great, but is a tad expensive, to which my response is, yes. It is roughly the same price as non-franchise cafe food, so if you find those venues expensive, you will have the same response here.
Since Covid, they have having staffing issues, so if waiting for your food is an issue, i.e. 20-30 minutes during peak, then take that into consideration. I would suggest going in or ordering when they just open to ensure that the order doesn't take long.
Lunch and dinner, this restaurant gets very busy, but if you are looking for a different dining experience as well as a taste of HK cuisine, I suggest you give this place a try, as it is worth it, except when you are carrying the pram up and down those...
Read moreTerrible experience. We ordered 2 x scotch fillet sizzling set meals and wanted the meat to be cooked MEDIUM. We waited 30min for the food to arrive and turned out to be inedible raw beef. When we complained and said we don't want the set meal anymore, waitress with glasses took our sizzling plate and said she would speak to the chef. In the end she never came back to explain or offer any other services. While waiting in frustration we decided not to eat anymore and pay for the food at the counter. Hence mentioning to the waitress meal was raw and not finished when she collected our plate. The waitress apologised and said they can not do anything about it because when you cook the meat you can not tell if meat is cooked or raw. That was the worse excuse ever. She insisted we pay full price when we didn't finish half of the inedible meal. Service is so bad, we're...
Read moreWe visited this place for the first time after living in the area for years, and were surprised by how busy it was. The entire upstairs floor is dedicated to the restaurant, which was impressive.
The menu was a bit confusing at first, but the waitress explained that it’s a set meal where you choose one item each from sections A, B, and C. Once that was clear, it made ordering much easier. A typical Hong Kong style Cafe.
Meat and meal portions are large and generous, making it great value for money. Food ok. However, the ambience drops to 3 stars when it’s crowded, as the echo and chatter can get quite loud. Be prepared for a wait...
