Read moreMy first time at a Red Rooster, I was quite curious to try their wares as opposed to my preferred KFC. I have noticed many a time here & other sites, they never appear busy, but they must be doing business or they would be out of business. The shop layout is a little bland, I didn't find it inviting, same as the young girl that served me, minimal effort & minimal interest. The "pack" was okay, nothing special, though the chicken was a little dry, but palatable, the chips not too bad. The best thing I found was the cold soft drink, I don't want to pan the business, but everything was simply okay, not enough to criticize, nor enough to entice me back, I'll stay with KFC, thank you, at least it's finger licking...

The chicken roll, however, was bland and flavourless. I suspect it had been stored upright as it was all squashed to one end. The first 3 bites were just bread as all the meat had fallen to the bottom. It was tasted dry and boring.
It was still in date, use by date tomorrow, but was already 5 days old according to the notes written on the back.
