We went for dinner last night not expecting to end up here, we came to the Bowerbird for dinner at 07:30pm. As Byron itself was so busy. The staff were getting ready to close for the night, we got greeted with such friendly staff, even though they didn’t have some things on the menu (as they ran out) we were made feel so welcome. It was torrential rain outside and I was carrying my 7 month old baby and the lovely Irish lady asked if I would like a towel for myself or our baby. Chef Tom Bower's food is sooooo good. The menu is brilliant. And because it's in a club, it's affordable and the drink prices are good value. Love great food in a non fine dining environment. Tom's signature prawn garlic and chilli pasta speaks for itself. the steak! melt in your mouth. same with the lamb rump. and the...
Read moreSome of the worst and most overpriced food I have had in a long time. I ordered the Ballina King Prawn curry @$39. It had a tablespoon too many of curry paste a few shriveled prawns, zero veg and a small bowl of dried out rice. My partner had a cauliflower curry that was same but with deep fried cauliflower. Hot chips were $12 for a bowl of overcooked chips (might be time to change the deep fryer oil) We were with others whose food looked pretty bad except the pasta. As a long term local I’m always hopeful for a restaurant at the Golf Club as it’s such a lovely venue. This is the second time dining here and i definitely won’t...
