I have been here many times, being a local that works around the corner. It’s never been great and always overpriced for what you get in terms of food and service, but today was special:
They have decided to remove pricing from the menu, I can only assume because their pricing is unjustified. A coffee, banana smoothie, mushrooms on toast with 1 extra boiled egg and slice of pre-made “eggplant galette” (like a vegetarian quiche) cost $68 🤔 My mushroom on toast came out on a small gluten free bread, I never asked for it, so had to return. I can only assume they charged me for it. The extra boiled egg was cold, clearly had been sitting in the fridge. Un edible for what is a hot breakfast. My partners pre-made eggplant galette never came out. She had to remind them when I was finished, no apology, just another stuff up. They use small side plates to serve their meals, it costs no extra or is any more effort to clean a normal sized plate, you can’t even cut the toast without food going everywhere.
The other point is how uninterested the staff are in offering anything that resembles service. If they don’t want to be there, for the sake of the business and its clients they may as well not be.
You would be best to avoid this overpriced place, with so many great food and coffee alternatives...
Read moreFrustratingly, Vagabond is such a hit and miss. I go to the cafe 3 or so times a week as it's my local. I've been going there every week since it opened and still after almost a year (I think?) they ask my name and have zero recognition that I've been there before. I don't want to be best friends, but ya know, maybe act like you have seen me! The menu is great, when it's great but also terribly inconsistent. Sometimes the kitchari is thick and flavousome and the next day it's watery and gross. Sometimes the nourish bowl has oodles of nuts and vegan feta, the next day no nuts or feta and just a big bowl of baby spinach. I want to love it, and I keep going back in the hopes that it will be a 'good' day...but more often than not, I'm disappointed. I would stop going all together except that they're the only place that does a decent matcha (altho at $10 a pop and varying sizes from week to week, I'm questioning my judgement!). Please be...

Avo toast on the smaller side but honestly enough, and reasonable for price. Beautiful bread. Simple but delish. Partner loved his mushroom dish.
Espresso in my latte was ace, but milk wasn't super silky - solid 4/5. Iced latte seemed to have sugar syrup in it which we aren't a fan of. We may have missed that on the menu, but I don't recall seeing it listed as we would have asked for it without it. Maybe it's a Byron thing? We saw a few smoothies go out and wish I had ordered one. They looked huge and delicious!
Ample seating - from large tables, to small two seaters, to grassy area under a big beautiful tree. Calming vibe to the area.
Would visit reguarly if it was my local....
