The Other Side — Restaurant in Claremont

This morning, Friday 27 November, my wife put in a skipapp order at 6.59am for pickup at 7.04am. And the coffees were not ready until 7.16am. It appeared the staff only noticed the order until just before they made it. The staff made comment there is a skipapp order here that is 10 minutes over. To make matters worse no apology was offered and a remark was made between staff at the look of frustration on her face. Disappointing as she purchases at least four coffees a week from you. This is not the first time it has happened but it is the last. She will be driving to the ‘other side’ of the railway line to get coffee. There is no excuse for poor manners or service. Stark contrast to when Dancing Goat operated and the staff remembered every customer’s name and coffee order.

Good coffee, nice area and atmosphere but slow/ inconsiderate service. Ordered ahead on skip 10 min in advance, there was no queue on arrival and they did not start making the coffee until 5 min after I arrived - basically just chit chatting amongst themselves with no sense of urgency. Kind of defeats the point of ordering online and no apology for the slow service offered. Not impressed so will probably order somewhere else next time - at least the coffee is 4/5 quality.

Gave them another chance and same thing happened again - ordered online but still the baristas Kirsten and Justine chose to make coffees for people in person first until I finally came to the counter to check on the order to be told.. it’s on its way (though no one was making coffees at the time). Definitely won’t...

My wife came in to get me a coffee today and had terrible service. She was the only coffee order up, yet three staff members were standing behind the bar talking about the difference between dates and prunes while she was kept waiting.

On top of this the coffee was terrible. Ordinarily, customer's opinions are not taken very seriously in the coffee industry, but I have worked in specialty coffee for 5 years in Perth and Sydney. If a place is getting smashed and the coffee isn't perfect I can understand that, but there's no excuse for serving a bad cup when you have plenty of time to produce something...
