The Pizza Lounge — Restaurant in Swanbourne

Hard to know what to make of the Pizza Lounge. On one hand the pizzas are quite nice and always tasty, on the other the woman behind the counter with some sort of accent who I believe is the manager, is little short of a grumpy, angry little cow. I am regularly in the area for work reasons and various friends and work associates take me here for a quick takeaway. I understand that in this sort of buisness you're going to encounter all types and no doubt the manageress here has all sorts of wierd coping mechanisms. However, I'd have thought rudeness and hostitity were a couple of the more counter-productive. Anyway, on my latest trip, after a strange interaction where she seemed determined to take our order without actually communicating in any way, we ended up getting two pizzas that were not even remotely close to what we ordered...only dicovering this when we got home. What the hell, they were tasty though so I guess that part of it was ok...not sure what they were called or why they were given to us though. I'll probably eat here again next time, partially because the food is quite ok, but mainly because this girls attitude is soooo bad, it's almost funny watching her interact...

Bbq lamb pizza had no lamb or bbq sauce. Or if it had lamb on it you couldn’t see it or taste it. Hardcore prawn pizza tasted okay however had tinned prawns not fresh prawns and there was no chilli to be seen or tasted. Overpriced for the quality. Very disappointing overall

correct the lamb pizza had a sauce however the base was a tomato sauce and not bbq as advertised on the menu. Wasn’t expecting a drizzle of bbq as you describe however would have thought the base would have a bbq flavour given that is what is said on the menu.

there perhaps was a sprinkle of lamb on the pizza but for $27 would have expected more from what was described as “lamb rump” on your menu. Also there was no spinach either come to think of it

prawns may well have been pre-cooked that’s fine, but to claim they were marinated in chilli before cooking is a joke. I’ve had more chilli from some cracked pepper.

Im of two minds about Pizza Lounge. The pizza is always delicious and well made, and the staff friendly, but I have a hard time actually being able to get pizza from these guys. I work a little later than most, so usually order a delivery around 8:20 pm if im going to order pizza. The last three times I've called however, I've been told the oven is already off and they are no longer making pizza. Their website says they close at 9:00 pm, with no mention of an early "oven close off". The explanation I get is a lack of customers, but im a bit old fashioned. If the advertising states a closing time, i feel 40 minutes plus beforehand is a little early to be turning...
