Extremely disappointing food, service and ambiance. On my first visit to Lotus Court I was fairly impressed with the service and quality of the food. The second time was a order placed via their online menu, this didn't go so well. 30 mins was the estimated time for collection. On arrival they handed my a package with the meals, only for it to turn out that it wasn't our meals which hadn't even been made. 30 mins later we eventually got our meal which tasted fine. Last night a group of us dined in the restaurant. Immediately it was apparent that they were very busy and all table were occupied with considerable background noise that made communications within our group difficult (Too many tables for the size of the room). Duck was the entrée. One plate of duck, one plate of assorted cucumber etc etc, this made self service awkward it would have been better to split the duck and assorted other accompaniments into two plates rather than everyone waiting for the dishes to be rotated around the table. I ordered lightly battered spicy chilli seafood (house speciality) "Dry". What I got was chip shop deep fried seafood. Ordered takeaway on a Friday night with a 45-minute ETA. When I arrived, the food took an additional 10 minutes on top of that. There were two women working at reception and on the floor — their customer service was honestly shocking. They were extremely rude, and I won’t be returning because of it. A small smile goes a long way & everything was a hassle for them both. Far from friendly!

My 2-year-old daughter was with me, and while we waited, she was quietly playing with a toy car on the front desk. One of the staff abruptly snapped at her to put it back — which was incredibly unnecessary, especially given we were already delayed due to their service so I was trying to entertain her while we waited.

Tried this Chinese restaurant after looking up best Chinese restaurants in the northern suburbs. I definitely was not let down. I have now been here 3 times and it was perfect food and very quick service each time. Not a massive restaurant, so definitely have to book first. I did see a walk in group when i was there and the staff setup a table for them but they were very lucky to get a seat.

Meals were a very good size, especially the lemon chicken dish I see some negative comments about ordering delivery but I havnt tried that and it may be a bit far for me to order. But dining in is excellent everytime I've been there.

So if Connolly is an ok distance for you to drive, I highly recommend this restaurant as the best Chinese I have tried north of the city.
