We have been going to cherry pie for along time, until last weekend, and will never be going back ! I ordered our breakfast a Cup Of tea and coffee with the nice man at the counter, so all good , then when we received the hot drinks the tea was wrong . I took it back and there was a woman now serving where the coffee was made, I explained to her my tea was wrong and she basically grabbed the cup poured it out huffing and puffing with a face of thunder !!!Then I asked For more milk and said I did ask for this when i ordered , then she came back to me with the following with a attitude so disgraceful ! “ I’ve just had over 200 needles in my arm and it’s really Hurting me “! And then she shows me her tattoo she had just had done . I replied no need to be rude and have a attitude , she then carry’s on about her pain from her arm ??? I said can you drop the attitude please, to which she stated not to go there as I had the attitude !!! She continues to slam cups down, I explained the lady before me as she walked out had said how rude she was ! I proceeded to walk out with my tea and she is still shouting at me! So this woman goes to get a tattoo and is in agony and she thinks the public has to be spoken too like rubbish as she has paid to have self Inflicted pain on a day she is working 😳😳😳 After years of using Cherry pie we will Not longer step foot in the place ! I dont know if the place has changed owners but the breakfast wasn’t that nice either , things left off as they had run out of , but no extra of anything else and the still charged the normal price . Also they do not clean the tables . I gave another couple my Antiseptic gel to clean their table as they were trying to clean it with their baby wipes...
Read moreThis place always seemed like a quaint cafe, which I've seen on many travels along the highway, but never stopped there until yesterday. However my experience did not live up to what I expected. Whilst the staff member serving us appeared polite and helpful, they managed to miss one coffee from our order at the time of making them, then proceeded to make the coffee for other customers, before making our missed order, for which they still expected us to pay full price, and not provide it for free or a discounted rate when it was their error. Plus one person finished their coffee before the other got theirs. Upon all parties receiving their coffee, each found it was extremely hot, with the coffee tasting burnt, and even adding additional sugar couldn't help mask the burnt residue. The spinach and feta rolls, appeared that they'd been sitting in the pie warmer far too long as they were extremely dry. We had hoped that the small citron tarts would save the visit, but even these tasted a little stale. During our visit, we couldn't believe the manners and attitudes of other customers, as some were walking and climbing over the seats, others bringing their dogs into the cafe, and the staff didn't appear to care at all. Regarding the staff, it appears some need to do food and hygiene courses, as I observed staff handling pies with their bare hands, when gloves are usually worn in most other food establishments. So it wasn't just the food leaving a bad impression for me. I wouldn't recommend this at all. If you're heading north along the highway, I'd definitely recommend holding out until the Taree Service Centre, or going south McDonald's at...
Read moreMy son wanted a milkshake but they said the ice cream machine wasn't working. We saw a bottle of milk on the bench and the milk flavouring bottles and the milkshake maker and asked if we could have flavoured milk instead and the girl behind the counter said they don't have any. How strange. She couldn't think beyond the actual items listed on the menu. I ordered a cherry pie slice and, after I paid, she told me I could go to a different counter to go and get my cherry pie. I thought it was really strange that she wouldn't go over there herself and get it and give it to me. The other super weird thing is that they had a properly printed and laminated sign saying they were understaffed and the wait time would be long and to please be patient. It looked like that sign was planning to be there for a long time and they possibly have no intention of hiring any more staff. When I googled the cafe, it was advertised as a cafe and art gallery. After I got there, I had a look around and wondered where the art gallery was. All they had was three numbered prints of one artist on the walls which had a tiny price printed under them. One of them didn't even have a price on it like perhaps they were not even bothering to try to sell that one. There were blank spaces on the walls which could have been used to display more art but they are clearly not focussed on their "art gallery". The cherry pie was okay but it was nothing special. I think Coles or Woolworths could have...
