Food Review: Servo Taphouse (4/5 ⭐️) Dropped by The Servo Taphouse on a bustling trivia Monday without a reservation. Indoor seating was full, but the staff were friendly and accommodating, setting us up in a cozy alfresco back area complete with an overhead heater—just right for the chilly evening. We ordered their signature Servo Beef Burger and Chicken Burger (each $32 AUD). We upgraded one fries to poutine for $6 AUD, and added a side of calamari (around $16–18 AUD). The dishes were generously portioned and full of flavor, though they could’ve benefited from being served a touch hotter. The drink selection was excellent: a wide array of beers and stout on tap, plus a selection of beers in cans—seemingly from a local brewery—alongside wines available by the glass or bottle. And for those seeking something warm, a classic mulled wine rounds it out nicely. Overall, a winning combination of great service, hearty food, and a friendly atmosphere. 4 out of 5 stars.

I ordered the Poutine with cheese curds (as indicated in the menu). It has been a real disappointment when the meal arrived since there was no cheese curds, it was actually deep fried Halloumi. It's a shame because the meal itself was excellent, the gravy was very good and the deep fried Halloumi was interesting in a very good way. It was just really disappointing to not get what I ordered from their menu. If the menu would have indicated something like "loaded fries with deep fried Halloumi", I would have given 5 stars since I would have received what was described in the menu and wouldn't have expected a Poutine with cheese curds. Otherwise, they have a huge selection of beers. They also have a beautiful shaded area at the back. The staff was very friendly. We went on a weekday and it was very easy to find parking in the street near the restaurant.

A hidden gem for gluten free dining! I stumbled upon The Servo by chance, as it was the only place still serving food in the area—and I couldn’t be happier that I did. As someone with coeliac disease, I was truly impressed by their attention to dietary requirements and the welcoming sense of community from the moment I walked in. I ordered the BFC (buttermilk fried chicken) burger with chips, both prepared in a dedicated gluten free fryer. The meal was outstanding.. so much so that I found myself double checking if it was truly coeliac safe! The quality and flavour exceeded my expectations, making this a must visit spot for anyone seeking delicious and safe gluten free options. So good the normies won't question it!
