1or2 Cafē — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

Bit of a mixed bag here. We ordered and coffees arrived almost instantly. After a few curious peaks towards the counter at around the 25 minute wait mark for food, there was a sudden flurry of activity and it was pretty clear the machine had eaten our order. The meals eventually arrived after about 40 minutes, without a word of explanation or acknowledgement of a cock-up from staff. The food and coffee were very good, although the coffee was drained long before its partner showed up. My advice to any cafe or restaurant staff who lose an order is to tell the customer what has happened, apologise, and maybe even offer a second coffee on the house. Very disappointed! We have been regulars for at least the last couple of years and even with the changes in Chef the quality has stayed pretty consistent until now. The Chef has changed in the last few weeks and it’s very obvious! We were unable to order our usual selections as the chef could not/would not accommodate allergies, the service was way below average and we had to call the wait staff back to the table four times for forgotten items, one of the dishes was the wrong dish all together and the quality of the food was not close to the quality we have come to expect. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Hands down the best bacon and egg roll ever. Their 1 or 2 roll is just exquisite with the ginger flavored chilli jam, oozy eggs, crunchy hash and bacon making it a feast in terms of texture and flavor. Who knew the humble avo on toast could be taken to this level with a delightful blend of feta, pomegranate seeds, sesame coriander seeds and hummus. It was a next level culinary experience Their scrambled egg was delicate and melt in the mouth. Gordon Ramsay would bow down to this scramble for sure.Overall best cafe ever!...
