Food was awful. The nasi goreng was so bland that I only had a few forkfuls and the chicken burger was just one very wet and tasteless burger. No service was provided. Noone greeted us when we walked in even though they saw us. We had to go ask someone what to do. We were told we could sit anywhere but weren’t told we’d have to order at the bar and when no one came to take our order we went to the bar to ask. We ordered a pitcher of their “pick me up” and it was just watered down juice which we didn’t bother finishing. And the water canister was filthy…see image. We left very disappointed at having wasted money on this establishment..$68 for nothing.

Absolutely fantastic, ordered a smoked chicken salad. The smell of it had my mouth watering. The saltiness of the prosciutto compliments the smokiness of the chicken and the feta provides another texture of a semi-fatty cheese. And that onion with the dressing cuts it down. Added a bit of spice with some black pepper and it was perfect. Tried to order an eye fillet but I was too early for the kitchen. I’ll come back for it next time. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. My first visit and certainly won’t be my last.

We dropped by this bar twice on our holiday and both times it had a healthy amount of patrons. The Friday evening had a great vibe with a mellow live acoustic set playing in the background. Like a lot of places in Canberra the drinks are expensive, especially the beer (it would help if the staff knew how to pull a proper beer, it wouldn't make you cringe so much for having to pay almost 13 bucks a pint). You get better value out of the cocktails. We didn't get a chance to try their food.

When it comes to finding a relaxed and vibrant spot on a weekend, Public Bar in Manuka hits all the right notes. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this popular establishment, and it quickly became evident why it's a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

The atmosphere at Public Bar is inviting. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a clean and lively ambiance that strikes the perfect balance between energetic and laid-back. The spacious interior, coupled with relaxed decor and comfortable seating, sets the stage for a truly enjoyable experience.

One aspect that sets Public Bar apart is its popularity during parliamentary sitting weeks. Due to its proximity to the political hub, it becomes a bustling hub of activity as political staff and officials frequent the establishment. This adds an extra dynamic to the atmosphere, creating a buzz that's hard to replicate elsewhere. It's an intriguing sight to witness the mingling of individuals from the political sphere, adding a unique flair to the overall vibe of the place.

During these parliamentary weeks, Public Bar tends to be quite busy, but don't let that discourage you. The staff at the bar manage the crowds efficiently, ensuring that service remains top-notch even during peak times. The lively atmosphere that emerges during these periods can be infectious, making it an excellent opportunity to soak in the vibrant energy.

However, even on regular weekends, Public Bar retains its charm and offers a more relaxed setting. It's a fantastic place to gather with friends, enjoy delicious food, and sip on refreshing drinks. The menu boasts a wide range of delectable options, from classic pub fare to more inventive dishes, catering to various tastes and preferences.

Whether you're looking for a vibrant experience during parliamentary weeks or a more laid-back outing on a regular weekend, Public Bar in Manuka is the place to be. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and a lively mix of patrons, this establishment consistently delivers an...

Whilst the food and atmosphere were nice enough, but the service wasn't the best.

We have an Entertainment Book and we're supposed to get a main meal for free, up to the value of $40. I didn't do the maths until I got back to the table, but something wasn't right. I mentioned it to the bar staff who then sent me back to my table with a free glass of wine and said that we'd figure out the rest after our meal. That was fine. But when he came back he told us that the waitress gave us the entree for free, which was only $18, and when we protested he pointed to the free glass of wine that he'd given us and then grumpily suggested another glass of wine.

We'd had enough wine, and the calculations were close enough for us to move on, but we really didn't appreciate the attitude. We were made to feel like we were being difficult and I don't believe we got an apology.

Honestly, I feel like we were just trying to get what we were entitled to.

We won't...

A lazy Sunday afternoon, dropped in for a feed and a couple of drinks....My partner is a vegetarian and she ordered two starters...zucchini chips were great but the endamame was ordinary, no chilli as advertised......my tandoori chicken pizza was very good.......good setting, was nice sitting outside relaxing and watching people go by.....the guys behind the bar need to pay more attention to serving....one young lady served me twice, the second time she went out of her way to serve me as the guys were not paying attention and it was not busy, sorry I didn't get the young lady' s name as she was good.....I will go back as it is usually a great...
