Components Cafe — Restaurant in Dorrigo

I struggled to write this review, but I feel it must be done. Ordered bacon and eggs scrambled with a long black. The positives. Staff were very friendly but without greeting as I had to walk up to the back to the counter. I was then told to sit without ordering and someone would come and take my order. The toast was Turkish, fresh and very tasty. Three large fried tomato slices on top of baby leaf spinach came with it (not eaten as I didn't want it, comments later). Bacon was tasty and cooked well. Negatives. The coffee was very bitter. I could only manage a few sips before I couldn't take any more. The scrambled eggs were not mixed thoroughly as I could see the white mixed in. Upon presentation, it had an off smell which I attribute to the cheese added to the eggs. The cheese wasn't melted properly which led to hard and chewy pieces in the scrambled egg which made for an unpleasant experience overall. I did mange to finish the eggs, but after wood, I couldn't manage anything else as there was an off taste in my mouth. While I understand a chef flair, scrambled eggs should be just that, without ingredients which smell. If you order them, ask...

Fantastic Dining Experience at Component Café!

I recently visited Component Café and was absolutely delighted by the entire experience. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional.

We ordered the Portuguese Burger, American Breakfast, and two sets of truffle hash browns. Each dish was crafted to perfection. The Portuguese Burger was bursting with flavor, hearty, and satisfying. The American Breakfast was a classic done right, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation.

The truffle hash browns were a standout—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with a beautifully aromatic truffle flavor that elevated the dish. And I can’t rave enough about the Ricotta Hotcakes that came with the meal. They were light, airy, and delicious—easily one of the best I’ve had!

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding a warm touch to the already inviting ambiance of the café.

Tried to order at desk, told to take a table and someone would take my order. After about 20 minutes and other people getting their orders, I got up to go back to the desk to ask. Could I order and while I was up at the desk somebody took my table.

The attitude of the staff sucked big time they couldn't have cared less let alone and apology of some sort.

Regular visitor to Dorrigo but will never come here again.

It was not that my order wasn't taken. Having worked my way through uni in cafes, restaurants and bars. I completely understand overlooking people occasionally. What sucked was the attitude ... Instead of " oh sorry ... what can we do?" ... It was "oh well .."

As to the door, I certainly did not break your glass. It was extremely windy and I had already closed several of the windows and the wind pulled the door closed although I would not have thought with enough force to break anything. And I stood outside the door for several minutes and there was certainly no breakage evident then nor did you say...
