Finley Bakery — Restaurant in Finley

Called in Saturday for a takeaway lunch. Was disappointed. Initially served by 1 person. She was obviously in charge because the employees behind the counter kept asking her questions. Then she went out the back and got someone else to finish my order. I wanted a milkshake. So firstly she didn't know how much milk to put in the container. Obviously she'd put too much milk in, so when she went to mix it milk went everywhere. She then proceeded to clean up the mess with a dirty cloth from the kitchen sink and then wiped the milk frother with the dirty cloth. She then tipped some milk out and continued with the frothing. Once she'd finished she put half the milkshake in a small container. The rest hopefully was thrown out. Not sure why I didn't get a bigger milkshake container. I come here regularly on my way up north. Definitely won't be stopping here again. Quality has plummeted since last time I went there, but prices have increased significantly. Looks like they're using their previous awards to sell you average at best bakery food at well above average prices. Everything in this place is well above normal price.

It used to be better, and I've been there many times. Though it's Finley so I dunno where else you'll go for food. Just don't expect to be blown away by the quality. After travelling most of Australia and eating a lot of pies this would rank at the top of my list for a bakery pie. I was hungry and purchased a chili pie, chunky steak and caramelised onion called the Finley and a sausage roll. At first you would think $9 for tye Finley was expensive but it weighs in at 1.5 normal pies and was the pick of them and worth every cent. The chili pie was nice, perfect flavour and heat but the only negative for me was no noticeable chili. The sausage roll had a nice flavour and pastry but could do with more meat to filling ratio.
