Finley Returned Soldiers Club — Restaurant in Finley

I went with my Husband few weeks ago, for the very first time, since it was a really hot day we were wearing caps. we stopped by and no one welcome us, after while standing in front of the counter there was an old blond lady that works there and looked pretty much in a rush but stopped really quick just to say “cap wasn’t allowed in the restaurant” and left straight away, didn’t giving us the chance to say anything. I was starting getting overwhelmed of waiting for the opportunity to ask someone if could we seat anywhere or wait. Well after while the same lady was passing by totally ignoring the fact we were stand there for while looking for help, I had to stop her by saying “excuse me, sorry is our first and we’d like to know how it works, Do we need to wait to be seated or can we seat anywhere?” She sounded bothered by us asking her and just said “just seat anywhere”. I really felt not eating there anymore after such horrible welcoming and zero customer service. We just eat since it was a Sunday afternoon and looks like the only place open in town. Very friendly and helpful staff. It’s not their fault the food and drinks are too expensive. I paid $39 for a steak, 4 skinny carrots, 5 baby beans and a small dish of frozen chips on the side. This is a club, not a fine dining restaurant. I expect a full plate at a club. I want to feel like I have a good deal. I only booked here because the choices in Finley are slim. I’ve eaten here twice (lunch and dinner) in the last 4 months and it’s the same menu for both. The food is generally good, although some of it is pre packaged frozen food. The menu choices are not good. I really only had one choice as everything else was out. My sister had the vegan meal which for $26 was just a handful of vegetables, mainly carrots with mushrooms and hummus sauce (we think). The main criticism is that it’s way overpriced for a club.
