My wife and I ordered 2 chicken Caesar wraps during the week regular staff were there and food was great Today I ordered the same with small chips The new manager put other orders who came in after me first After 35 minutes of waiting I asked should I come back he said I was next don’t worry it’ll only take 5 minutes The wraps were very different from what I had during the week There was very little bacon on mine and none on my wife’s The wraps were cold The chips were lukewarm and like cardboard The manager was on his phone during the week while trying to make a coffee and as a result of poor concentration leading to poor customer service he got the coffees wrong The girls during the week are awesome and know what they are doing very well The manager however is killing a business which has huge potential to be as awesome as the girls during the week Unfortunately I...

A Hidden Gem by the Lake!

We stumbled across Lakeside Takeaway Cafe while walking around the lake in Forbes—and what a great find! The food was fresh, tasty, and generously portioned. We ordered the fish and chips and a burger, and both were delicious. The coffee was surprisingly good too—smooth and strong, just how we like it.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our meals came out quickly even though it was fairly busy. There’s a relaxed, local charm to the place, and the view of the lake from the outdoor seating made it even better.

Highly recommend this spot for a casual meal or coffee break if you’re in Forbes. We’ll definitely be back next time...

Been going to this place for ages, but the new owners are ruining the great reputation of the business. Waited over 45 minutes for the food because no names were taken for the order so it sat at the counter while we patiently waited outside. After waiting we went back inside to double check on our order and the cashier blamed us for waiting outside so that’s why we did not get our order. Maybe names need to be taken or a number system, and actually call out the name to people waiting outside (there’s a window designed for that) not just quietly inside.
