Amici — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

The service by the staff was very disappointing. The waitress (a blond one with tattoos) was very rude and grumpy. She kept telling us that we can’t be served because of lack of free tables even if there were quite a few empty ones for a long period of time. We were happy with being served even in the bar area where there were another 2 free tables but she kept repeating that we cannot be served because of lack of space. We even tried to ask for just a takeaway pizza but even that we were not allowed to have. We have never had anything like that anywhere before! So our holiday ended with a disappointing last night experience thanks to the unhelpful staff of trattoria Amici. We will make sure we warn as many people as possible through different venues because we do not wish anyone to have the experience we had!

It will be good if the management of RACV Royal Pines have a good look at this incident and make sure things like these don’t happen ever again or their ratings would drop due to the number of disatisfied...

We stayed at the hotel recently and decided to visit this restaurant on 19th June 2022. We were served by an elderly man who appeared to be of Italian origin. While filing our glasses with water, 1st he spilt water every where on the table and didn't wipe it down until we had to get his attention. Then, he ordered the wrong dish for entree and when we brought it to his attention that we had ordered garlic pizza not the cheese balls. He said he won't charge us and fix it. Anyway, at the end- We were charged two dishes for entrees one of which we had not ordered and it was the waiters mistake and despite saying he won't charge. He did. Upon asking him why we were charged. He shrug his shoulders. So be careful and triple check ur order otherwise you may have to pay more than what you expected. It's not about the money necessarily but it's the principle of owning up to ur mistakes (when u get the order wrong) and not holding customers responsible.

Situated on the ground level of the RACV resort, this is a great Italian restaurant 🇮🇹

The service was great - shout out to Gabby who looked after us for the evening, she knew her stuff & was very hospitable.

We received complimentary bread 🥖 & dips on arrival.

We chose arancini & scallops for entree, the arancini were a little too cheesy for my liking & the scallops could have been more tender but nonetheless still tasty.

For mains we shared a pasta dish & fish 🐠 of the day Barramundi this was very fresh & melted in your mouth. The ragù pasta dish, I felt had more of a mince meat texture rather than chunks of ragu, still tasty but a little disappointing.

For dessert we opted for my two favourites Tiramisu & Lemon 🍋 Meringue Pie the tiramisu was the biggest serving EVER, however ~ I feel it lacked flavour, the mascarpone was too runny & the savoiardi biscuits were soggy, the Lemon 🍋 Meringue on the other hand was “perfecto”👌🏾
