From the moment I arrived at RACV Royal Pines Resort, I knew I was in for something special. The resort is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and tranquility. I was warmly welcomed with an early check-in, which allowed me to settle in and start my stay with ease. My room was spacious, clean, and offered a breathtaking view of the pools, golf course, and lush gardens. Waking up to that view every morning was pure magic.
The facilities at Royal Pines are exceptional. The pools are beautifully maintained and the perfect temperature—whether I was swimming early in the morning or relaxing poolside in the afternoon. There’s something peaceful about lying by the water, drink in hand (the passionfruit mocktail from the pool bar was a favorite), and just taking it all in.
The One Spa was an absolute highlight. I had the Vichy shower and massage, and left feeling completely renewed. Sitting out on the spa deck overlooking the water, I felt more relaxed than I have in years. Afterward, I swam again and enjoyed prawns and another refreshing mocktail poolside—such a perfect balance of activity and rest.
I also dined twice at Arakawa, the Japanese restaurant on-site. Both times the food was outstanding. I had the wagyu beef with bone marrow, the tuna tartare with black caviar, and the Moreton Bay bug—each dish was an experience on its own. The flavors were beautifully balanced, fresh, and unique. I finished with their chocolate bomb dessert, which was decadent but not overly sweet, and finished the meal perfectly. The staff were attentive and kind, always making sure I was comfortable, even checking in with me often as I was dining alone. It felt like they genuinely cared about the experience I was having.
For dessert lovers, Trattoria Amici deserves a special mention. I ordered both the tiramisu and the sixteen-layer chocolate cake to enjoy in my room. The tiramisu was light and fluffy with just the right amount of coffee flavor, while the chocolate cake was rich but surprisingly not heavy—layered perfectly to keep it balanced. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day.
One of my favorite small touches was the resort’s use of Biology Smart Skincare products in the rooms and spa. I absolutely loved them, especially the hand and body lotion—such a luxurious detail that made showers feel like spa experiences.
The check-out process was quick and efficient, though I was sad to leave. I grabbed one last coffee from the lounge and took a moment to appreciate everything I had experienced here. A heartfelt thank you to Royal Pines for hosting the Coming Home to Your Heart retreat. The resort was the perfect setting for healing, reflection, and rejuvenation.
I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m...
Read moreThis hotel really surprised me. I thought it would be just a family hotel and wasn't expecting any luxury but I was thankfully mistaken.
We came to check in early, not expecting the room to be ready but hoping to sit by the pool while we wait and we were lucky enough to be able to check in and received a beautiful room for our wedding anniversary. We walked in and were wowed. Its not a new hotel so I thought the rooms would be dated but it was a beautiful and fresh room and the view was stunning.
We went to the executive lounge and appreciated the all day offerings of trail mix, cookies and non alcoholic beverages. Again the atmosphere felt fresh and relaxing and we sat and appreciated the view before heading to the pool. We also received a lovely anniversary amenity of chocolate and berries (naughty and nice) which I thought was a lovely touch.
The pool area was lovely, large enough that you were (mostly) not bothered by families which was good considering we were having our first child free night in awhile! It was a Sunday so it was likely quieter at the pool than it would be on a Friday or Saturday but still quite busy, we ended up enjoying it more the next day where it was very quiet being a Monday.
Canapes at the lounge were good, couple of gluten free options and the cheese selection was lovely. The staff at the lounge were the nicest that we interacted with in our short stay, Sandra and Sarah were professional and friendly and ensured that we were taken care of throughout the evening. I usually drink shiraz but unfortunately the shiraz in the lounge was flavourless, the pinot noir was very flavourful though.
The breakfast offering at the lounge was okay. It wasn't explained to us that we could order from the menu, although I work in hotels so I figured that out myself, my husband who doesn't work in hotels was worried about extra hidden costs! The coffee machine at the lounge makes better coffee than I expected as well. Would have been nice to have more fruit selection but other than that I enjoyed the offerings.
We were going to have lunch at the Clubhouse but the inside area is much smaller than the pictures and was packed with people, I didn't want to eat outside due to the heat. So we went to try the cafe in the lobby but the prices were much too high. From memory it was $36 for a club sandwich. We ended up just deciding to go to a pub. We also saw people having high tea in the lobby cafe but I couldn't find any information on this or how to book it.
All in all, very lovely stay. Can't wait to return but we'll be bringing our little one next time as there are so many great...
Read moreOur stay at royal Pines resort was fabulous, from the time we got out of our car we were greeted by a staff member that was very friendly and helpful he was duty manager on shift he noticed that we would require a walk-in shower and accommodated for that , we mentioned we were there for a birthday and when entering our room there was a little plate of chocolates with a happy birthday on top of it that was a nice touch, that's awesome ! every staff member I have come across is super helpful and just want to please and that's exactly what you expect from a stay in a hotel they all excel at this. The room is very well decorated and very clean we were on the 12th floor, the view over the golf course of the Gold coast Skyline was beautiful , we could see all of surfers Paradise from our window. The bathroom is well sized, shower quite large, water pressure ok and the temperature of the tap is very hot so if you like those types of showers awesome. The amenities in the room are very good and the air conditioner is nice and cold, bed is comfortable and the choice of pillows is good. We ordered room service -staff member that delivered food was super polite and very helpful and the meal was great , I had a Reuben bagel it was very nice my wife had the club sandwich a little bit dry but again it was very nice. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast it had a great selection for everybody , From the people that love pastries and sweet breakfasts to the standard bacon and eggs- good selection of breads to toast and even cereals! There is a push button coffee machine as well but if you wanted a fancier coffee you had to pay $5 for the barista to make it
My summary of my stay: The positive aspects truly outweighed the handful of negatives. My only real complaints were that the sound from the other guests in the room would carry, and you could hear most things. For example, we had some rowdy guests at 10 pm who decided to start a hooting and hollering match in the hallway, which scared the living hell out of me as I was falling asleep. The push-button coffee machine down at the all-you-can-eat breakfast made very bitter coffee, and I was not a fan. But I would definitely come and stay here again. I'm excited to bring my family next time. The kids' activities look very fun, and my son would have an excellent time. So you will be seeing me again. Thank you for the...
