Bar Lago Pizzeria Gelateria — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

WASTED OUR TIME!!!

First time in Gold Coast, and had so many amazing recommendations to dine at this restaurant, due to the quality of their customer service, having amazing food and located in a scenic area. When booking, we made sure to book the day before since we knew how popular this place was. Booking was confirmed and added. Once the day came, we arrived before reservation to ensure our table was ready. When we arrived we noticed a couple and a small family dining in, walked into the actual restaurant and was greeted with a sigh…as we tried to tell her our booking, she rejected us from dining in with them and told us to wait for 2 hours, mind you the whole place was empty and there were available tables and chairs everywhere but she was adamant demanded us to wait until the couple was finished eating. I felt discriminated as she looked at us with complete disgust, 2 people of colour, while the others were white. Long story short, this was a waste of our time here as tourists, from being rejected to enter, discriminated because of colour and complete utter attitude. Wish we could rate this restaurant with no stars since that’s what they deserved…

DO NOT RECOMMEND DINING IN THIS...

We made a reservation for Sunday to dine in I wanted to order a Buffalo mozzarella pizza Mind you I was referred to go there and never been before. So before we placed our order the waiter said sorry due to a busy Saturday we ran out of buffalo Mozzarella, now this is on the menu as an extra topping over the normal mozzarella pizza I checked the menu before I left home just to check and see if there was something I liked only to be disappointed. I had to settle for something else other than the one I was happy to eat. The pizza Quality wasn’t good very dry and very thin I was like eating cardboard the first pizza arrived and it was completely burned but the waiter said to me if you think it’s to burnt I can make you another one so why bring it out to me in the first place so I sent him back to make me another one. You think for a pizza restaurant that specialises only on pizzas and nothing else how would they run out of buffalo Mozzarella...

The waiter who takes orders there needs to have some manners we went to your restaurant tonight but ended up leaving he asked if we needed wine we said no thank you just water make some smart comment its a beautiful evening pushing the wine thats was one thing we didnt like then my daughter asked about the vegeterian pizza re the eggplant to cater for the two children having half half wasnt pleasant when she was asking a few questions about the menu then seem to have a particular unpleasant smile towards the children told us about a 20 minute wait and kept pushing the wine again. This was too much this time we left the restaurant in disgust and went and had an indian meal at randhawas where they were ever so polite. Several months ago we had a similar experience with this waiter re the wine. Sorry I love your pizza's they are the best but cant go back till this waiter...
