Burnside Tavern — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Absolute joke. Very disappointed with management. Unjust, unreasonable and certainly undignified people and should be avoided at all cost. I was asked to leave for betting on my computer and not with their TAB (only just walked in and opened my computer and have 4 witnesses to the fact). Now BEWARE that if you put in a formal complaint to head office it will fall on deaf ears. No wonder nobody goes there anymore........Hi again PEOPLE just amending my initial review now having read TORSTEN WERNER'S response to my initial blog (Head of Management for "Goodtimes Pub Group" - an aquisition of MORRIS INTERNATIONAL best known for its SIRROMET wines)..... ATTENTION ALL. You have the RIGHT to exclude yourself from the POKIES. This does not give the establishment the RIGHT to stop you from playing POKIES on your iPhone or on your computer. TORSTEN WERNER responded with IGNORANCE and dealt with the whole situation poorly. It clearly shows he is incapable to lead his team. Sacked in my book. Get it together MR. PAUL MORRIS such leadership will sink your ship. To TORSTEN WERNER I truly suggest you also ask the PEOPLE next time (the customers who witnessed the facts - the very PEOPLE who support your business) not just the STAFF before making any attempt to deduce a reasonable conclusion. Google the word CONJECTURE. It is obvious culpable STAFF will do whatever it takes in an attempt to conceal their misconduct. Complaints to head office should be treated with respect and given due diligence, that's your job...

Had lunch there today with a friend. We ordered our meals but were shortly afterwards told that one of the meals was not available, so we chose something else. Okay, no drama. But then it took nearly 50 minutes for our meals to arrive. We only ordered pizzas - nothing fancy or complicated. Really, 50 minutes to make two pizzas?? And they weren't busy at all, in fact there were less than half a dozen other customers there. The staff though were top-rate and were most kind and generous, even giving us a couple of free drinks because of the lengthy wait. I can't praise the staff enough.
