Pacific Pines Tavern — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Came down last week for dinner and then again last night for drinks. Our family gather every fortnight for food and drinks and regularly frequent our local tavern. However, over the last year or so we have been going elsewhere due to a particular staff member of yours. So unfriendly, unwelcoming, unhelpful and just a thorn in our sides each time we come through the doors. When we're not being ignored at the bar while we patiently wait for service from him we're being followed around the tavern by him. We are a group of 4-12 each time we visit and we are all aware of how unfriendly he is. We have tried to greet him multuple times, we get no response. If he does serve us, we have to wait till another server approaches, then he reluctantly stares at us which means we can order because HE is ready. What is this? He has approached our children who are with us for identification purposes whilst we are ordering them a jug of soda prior to enjoying our meal. We have lost patience and are now short with him, once he has been corrected he walks off then stares at us for the rest of the evening, like...what is this? No apology, no smile or comprehension that his actions are directly affecting our experience in your venue. When you have a toxic worker using any excuse to get out of work, you got a problem. Mr. Magoo look-alike needs to buck up his mannerisms and just pretend he enjoys interracting with people who pay his bills or at least try to be a little more friendly. No answer can change the fact that we've been harrassed and judged for utilising your services. We love our local, you'd have 10 stars if it wasn't for the mistake that stands behind the bar. I remember when you guys first opened, amazing food, amazing service and a really nice family atmosphere!

Tonight we had dinner with you guys and I have to say we will never come back…and this is why;

The customer service is ok I guess, however the food is absolutely shocking! What have you guys done? Do you have chef’s, cooks or expert deep fryers?

$25 Great Northern Beer Battered Fish & Chips with salad….yeah righto - frozen fish deep fried till it turns to cardboard and have you guys heard of dressing the salad?

I don’t know how but you guys do a good job of ruining hot chips and the portions wouldn’t fill a toddler.

Our last couple of visits have confirmed we will definitely not be returning again and that’s sad because we are local - we even contemplated going somewhere else before we booked knowing the fact the food quality has dropped dramatically, at least one meal is wrong and we would like for once to be able to eat our meals together as a family….and tonight Pacific Pines Tavern didn’t disappoint - same service, same quality,...

Would not recommend Pacific Pines Tavern at all. First of all being a hot day, we had to ask twice for the fans to be turned on. We had lunch there as part of a birthday celebration and our experience was terrible. The dining area was not busy at all, we placed our orders and it took over an hour to receive them. We asked several times what was happening with the meals and we were told there were only two chefs on for the day. While I was waiting, another table complained about the wait time also. When we did receive the food was it basically inedible.Nearly every meal was sent back, with the plates at least still half full. It was cold, some food tasted steamed or not cooked properly, and not as described on the menu. When we spoke to the manager on duty we were advised there was nothing she could do. We weren’t offered replacement meals or refunds, or even partial refunds. So disappointing, especially given the Tavern was aware this was a special celebration.
