Sushi Train Ormeau — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Wow. Extremely disappointed with the service here. The young woman on the counter (dark hair, piercings) was incredibly hostile and rude. When I asked if there was a table free, she flat out refused to even look, just looked me in the eyes and said no (no follow up alternative to wait/ time frame nothing) I asked for a ticket to wait and she said “Yeah well I don’t know what you want”. I waited only a few minutes, and then watched a mother and daughter walk in, get served by someone else, and be seated straight away.

When I asked her why I was skipped, her response was, “dunno, I didn’t do it.” I then requested to speak with the manager and stepped aside to wait, but she told me to “move aside” ??????????? Bizarre behaviour for someone in customer service as a first greeting!??!!!!

Love sushi train but I won’t be going back...

Have been a few times since it opened, never had to wait longer than 5-10 mins. Staff are great, sushi is fresh. It is a very consistent sushi train experience, same format but in a new store and convenient location with plenty of free, convenient parking. We still enjoy the coomera sushi train more as its more established and has a wider variety of specials, plus that one always has everything ON the train. The ormeau sushi train you will need to order items such as edamame, baby tuna, okonominati etc, which is not a drama, but is a point of difference in coomeras favour. Without fail every time we come to collect our online order, we arrive the time it indicates and still told to wait at least another 20 minutes. Super inconvenient when you have kids, family is left in the car, kids usually screaming all because they can't seem to get it right. Another common one is 'oh sorry someone else took your order'.
