Terrarium — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I had heard so many good reviews about this place ... just to be disappointed.

I had heard about there famous pancakes and waffles and how good the “Goddess” was. However when I arrived with family this morning I was extremely disappointed with the menu. No pancake options at all on the menu, no waffle options either (there were pancakes however they were sitting on the top of the display cabinet with no cover on them).

I ordered the “terrarium smash avo” thinking that it’d be more of a classic smash avo (as there were more than one smash avo on the menu) and once again ... disappointed. It should not have been on the breakfast menu as I received one small piece of bread with avo and feta on it. More of a snack of anything!

I was also disappointed with my drink. Paid for a iced chai latte and received it in whisky glass whereas my partner ordered a milk shake at the same price and received it in a cup that looked to be the size of at least a litre.

Very disappointed- my family who has been there countless times before even claimed that they believe that the cafe must have changed owners because it is not what it used to be like however it has not changed the owner.

We also asked staff a few questions about the food and what was and wasn’t included however the questions came back unanswered or with attitude.

I enjoy going to Terrarium. It's a great place to bring friends for a treat. Meals can be tricky for vegan options but there are still options. The service isn't great though. The vegan and other deserts are amazing and tea is lovely, although I have heard that the coffee is bad (but I don't know as I prefer tea).

The counter service is good but there is no-one to seat or welcome as you enter and you have to bring the water to your own table. The way the food is brought can feel like the objective is as little customer interactions as possible.

Saying that the food is incredible; especially the pantry vegan options. The Ferrero rocher cheesecake is amazing and the mudslide cheesecake is quite nice. The Turkish Delight is a must with tea, it so good and frankly. Super cheap for how amazing it is. Sometimes I find the menu frustrating like the hummus dish doesn't have a vegan option and there's a french toast that's not available after 11 which the only...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made me feel right at home.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a beautifully decorated dining room that was both elegant and comfortable. The menu offered a fantastic range of dishes, each more delicious than the last. From appetizers to entrees to desserts, every dish was expertly prepared and presented.
