The Well Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I recently moved to this area and was just browsing Google maps one night and saw the name of this shop and I saw it had excellent reviews. I have been there three times this week. It's the best bakery I have been to in Australia. My favourite sweet is the bee sting and for the savoury it would be the toasted chicken and avocado. I don't eat red meat but my boyfriend said the pie was the best he has ever tasted and it was actual meat. It's also very inexpensive and I like how clean it is inside. Nearby you will see the beauty of Australian wildlife, watch the Ibis in it's natural habitat a bin. I have been wanting to go to this bakery for sometime now and managed to get there last week. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. I should have read the more recent reviews before going. I purchased a pie and a so-called jelly cake. The jelly cake was nothing like a jelly cake from when I was a child. It was a very stale lamington that had most probably used red jelly crystals instead of cocoa powder, and that’s the reason they called it a jelly cake 🤷‍♀️ I took a couple of bites of the pie and couldn’t eat any more. Old fashioned style bakery with the old favorites from freshly made pies, sausage rolls to freshly baked bread and a wonderful range of baked treats like vanilla slice, beesting buns, scones, fresh cream sponges and Apple turnovers, cupcakes, cookies and so much more.

They also have a sandwich bar ready to order, great coffee and thickshakes, milkshakes and a soft serve ice cream machine.

The owners and staff are very friendly and also support their local community by donating unused baked goods to people in need.
