Great gem of a cafe/bakery! The Salty Sun Burger was way above the expectation, dare I say its better in every way than most of the "fancy" burger joints. Pastries and coffee were good and fresh, and the milkshake was not too crazy sweet. Fresh bread to take home is an added bonus. And the prices on everything are the cherry on top - great value for money👍 The venue could use a little cosmetic spruse up, to make it more appealing to a wider crowd in Newport and compete with the newer cafes on the waterfront, but the food and drink quality are definitely on a great level already. I stopped for afternoon tea with my Mother who turned 82 today. The coffee was excellent, as was the selections of bakery items on sale. All were extremely well priced and the items we purchased were very fresh and delicious. The young man who looked after us and made our coffee was super polite. He even overheard us talking about my Mother's Birthday and on leaving he presented her with a lovely pack of freshly baked biscuits. My mother was extremely touched by his kindness. It's really frustrating when buying pies serving them hot is a requirement. If i wanted to heat them myself I would of asked for Cold Pies! Now, with lack of care for your customers your attendants have taken to lying to sell your stale products. I made it a point to ask Are they Fresh Liar, Liar, Liar..... Apple Danish hard and clearly stale. The crust is too hard to eat. Don't treat your customers poorly It's bad for business.
