My family have been here many times before and had a great time. We visited on Sunday 1st Oct and our experience was terrible. First of all the queue for ordering food was not very long however it took a long time for the orders to be taken. After an hour of waiting my partner went to ask about our food only to be told that "our docket must have blown away" (it was a windy day) this young girl said she would send someone to sort this out . We were then told by another young girl that food would not be ready for another 20 minutes. My partner said that was not acceptable and we would want either a refund or a free bowl of chips if we had to wait longer. The manager then came to talk to us and my partner reiterated the fact that we had been waiting so long, that this was a special occasion and that we had places to be for the football game that evening. The manager said that there had been a technical issue and offered us a full refund. We finally got our meals and I was the only person happy with my meal. I had the mushroom risotto. The rest of my table had fish of different sorts and all said it was rather tasteless. My meal was then ruined also when i decided to put some pepper on it and the pepper grinder was obviously faulty and all the pepper kernels fell in to my risotto. As we were close to finishing our meals one of the waitstaff brought over a bottle of water for our table. Surely this is something that should be done as soon as we sit down or shortly after. I would suggest to the Grandview Hotel that you need better systems in place to ensure orders don't get lost. Waitstaff need to be more attentive to customers & check things like salt & pepper grinders to ensure that they are not faulty. Also the bar staff need to be more careful with checking glasses coming out of dishwasher - my parter had a glass of wine served to her with lipstick on the glass. I am giving 2 stars on the basis that the location and set out of the restaurant is great. I love the gazebos especially. And the fact that the manager was kind enough to give us a full refund. But very...

We went mid week arrived before 11.30am, only 1 or 2 tables taken so had our pick, and thought we wouldn't have to wait long. Made our choices from the blackboard menu, 1 pizza, 1 cheeseboard, 1Fish burger, then the wait was on, waited over an hour before the pizza arrived, silly us thought the rest would be along soon, I had to start sharing the pizza, eventually the waitress came and apologised saying there is no cheese platter as the kitchen only had 2 cheeses, why did it take so long for them to discover this was the case!! so ordered another pizza, plus a bowl of chips, eventually the chips arrived by this time the 1st pizza was gone, so we started on the chips, and continued to wait and wait, another 20mins or so the fish burger arrived, still no 2nd pizza, more apologies from the staff who said the kitchen was confused with the order of 2nd pizza, with only a couple of tables taken the mind boggles, so we waited and waited again, eventually we decided to walk out, just as we were leaving out came the pizza in a take away box which we had requested after the continued waiting.
We asked to speak to the Manager and were told there was no Manager on duty, how does a licensed premises be able to operate without any Manager on duty I wonder.
We were only charged for the 1st pizza and bowl of chips, Thankfully.
We filled out the card to grade the service etc with our complaints and bitter disappointment on the appalling service, with our phone number, and asked for it to be handed to the Manager, after 2 weeks there has not been any contact what so ever which only speaks for how much they care about the customers. We have spoken to others on our shocking service and we unfortunately do not seem to be the only ones.
Never again, which is a pity on such a beautiful looking building in our Great...

Seating was restricted as they had a wedding coming into the function tent later that day.. The matradee was pleasant.. but slightly under whelmed by the availability of seating that was available.. The menu was the usual pub variety and upper end of prices .. two of us had the chicken parmigiana.. but we asked to swap . Chips for potato mash. And salad for veg.. and we're charged for both exchanges $3 per.. on an already $29 meal . There was a young guy that was tending our table who seemed to be newish.. was trying his best.. The bar staff spent more time talking to each other than taking any notice of the patrons at the bar.. which looked and stunk and were sticky as if it had not been cleaned from the days previous.. as was the table we had sat down at.. Over all it was a pleasant afternoon .. but that was more to do with company than anything to do with the pub... I have been a customer of the Grandview hotel for decades.. literally decades.. This would have to be my least favoured experience over all these years.. The food it's self was good.. the parmi was hot in delivery as were the mash potato.. My friend ordered a steak sandwich which was cold from the get go.. not great on all counts.. Another of my friends, the lady at the table, had the salt and pepper calamari . Which was acceptable on arrival..
I would probably go back. If we were in the area.. and hope that it would be a better experience..
Can I just say that covid is still around.. cleaning down tables and bars and menus should be a priority not a after thought.. Pick up the...
