Lai Lai Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Ordered $96 worth of meals for 4 people.. Chicken and Cashew , Honey Chicken , Sweet and sour Pork and a Mongolian Lamb plus 2 special fried rice … collected as polite young girl checked order in bag ,so should have been ok.! Got home to find Honey Chicken not there … called and they said will replace next day …ok .. Food was horrible. Chicken floating in clear liquid and no flavor… Pork was way overcooked and dry crunchy and burnt Mongolian Lamb was watery and tasteless… Rice was bad and like microwave pouches !!.. We were really disappointed as this place was good a year ago but now don’t bother ! The next day returned uneaten meals and asked for manager , politely, but was refused .. asked the girl to get a refund for us , she went to ask owner but was rejected and said no refund and not even a sorry .. … they asked do we want the replacement honey chicken they forgot .. we said no and left the remains of the meal with them … DONT WASTE YOUR TIME NOR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. One final thing there is a sign on the door to check your food and change as you leave as they aren’t responsible once you are out the door, but we aren’t responsible for getting our own change nor in the kitchen...

One of the hard parts about moving to a new area (especially after 12yrs elsewhere) is finding a decent pizza shop, burger shop and Chinese restaurant all over again. After moving to the area 1yr ago I'd managed to find the first 2, but had really struggled to find decent Chinese food. Some places would have decent Mongolian but terrible bland or dry "special" fried rice, others would have reasonably tasty meals, but would be 95% vegies and sauce with very little meat. Finally I expanded my search a little further to Petrie and found Lai Lai. Reviews seemed to be good so I travelled the extra few km to give it a go, and they didn't disappoint. All my favourite meals I had always bought from my old place were on the menu, super tasty, and the containers were fully loaded. Lai Lai will now be my go to place for Chinese food...

Worst Chinese in town. Chilli chicken looks like curry chicken. No Chilli in chicken what so ever. It looks like egg soup with chicken and tomato pieces inside. Steamed rice is under cooked. Curry vegetable and tofu, got 3 piece of tofu and hardly any curry in there, just yellow in colour but no salt no spice, nothing. Customer service was zero. They just didn't give a shit about what we were telling them about their food was unsatisfactory and we were told that the food is up to their standards but can't do anything if it's not at our standard.
