Pathetic customer service
We booked my daughter’s first birthday party at this place. We went personally to the restaurant to book the event to make sure that we can get birthday decorations on or not? We showed him on phone the type of decorations we gonna put on and The Guy said it is not a problem, we can.
So Party day comes and we did put the decorations and they were very agitated about this that why we had decorations on. The way this Guy explain things is very rude. No antiquates to talk at all.
We were told that we can amend the menu if needed. Due to busy schedules we forgot to preorder. But I still managed to call one day before to check if I still could order out of menu. This guy starts very rude conversation about not arranging this before whereas I was trying to explain things from my side that we had prayers held at Gurudwara sahib for 3 days which kept us really busy. I asked him if he understood what I am saying he said that he DONOT UNDERSTAND WHAT GURUDWARA PRAYERS ARE AND WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT in very RUDE manner. Man you must educate yourself about diverse communities before working at place where you will meet people from different religions and cultures. I repeat EDUCATE YOURSELF. I should have cancelled this booking at the same day when I had this conversation with him over the phone. Also, they said they will charge us $2.50 for each plate which we will use for birthday cake serving ??? AMAZING, never heard of this policy.
I know we booked for 20 people but things happen 2 people told us that they cant come and we told this to this guy that 2 people are not coming but again he started telling that because of you people He had to cancel other bookings.. come on man they were just 2 people who ended up coming later on as well.
“The last straw” was very rude multiple explanations through out our dinner about this decoration and all FROM START TILL END. Oh my god this guy can keep going forever, THEN I HAD ENOUGH and I told can we please stop this conversation as my guests were wondering what’s going on. But no, nothing could stop them.
I just wanted to run out of this place.
YOU GUYS MADE MY VERY SPECIAL DAY WORST, IT WAS MY FIRST CHILD’s FIRST BIRTHDAY.
I am 100% sure there will be another RUDE explanation to this one star review as well as expected He is...
Read more---5 Star Review from 2022--- We had a great dinner last night! The service was excellent, and despite it being busy, the food came out quickly. We ordered the medium butter chicken, hot lamb vindaloo, a garlic cheese naan and a side of rice. It was a generous serving for two people and cost just over $50 which is very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend booking though, as we did seem to get lucky without a reservation at 7pm. All dishes were really tasty, we will definitely be back!
---3 Star Review Feb 2023--- We have gotten takeaway a few times (probably four?) from here since our original visit in 2022. It can be a bit hit or miss unfortunately. Sometimes you get very tasty meals with good portions, other times it's average tasting with not much meat.
What has made me amend my review though was the experience when we dined in on a Saturday for lunch. Firstly, when we were seated, we had to get up and find the waiter to get a menu, and when he came back it was with only one menu between four people? We would have understood if it was busy, but I think there were only two other tables.
When it came to ordering, we couldn't get the first thing we asked to order, that's fine, we just got something else, but there was no apology. Our friends are vegetarian and they went through three options before the waiter said he had to go and check what vegetarian options they could actually offer. They were told that there was only one main left on the menu that they could order - with no apology! They had to settle for samosas and naan instead, as the one thing left was something they didn't like. Our curry also came out mild, not hot, and was a quarter of the portion we would normally get when ordering takeaway. Literally 10 pieces of meat in the curry that we usually can both share for two meals! No apology was ever made about any of this.
We were very disappointed, and I think we will be trying elsewhere after this experience. Such a shame too, as it's a great location and we really enjoyed the first few times we ate there, but it appears to have really...
Read moreIt's a shame I'm having to write a negative review as we've always had positive experiences at pappadums as it was our go to place with our families.
Last night we had a booking for 12 people at 6pm, most arrived early and we were some of the first people at the restaurant we had our orders taken by 6.15 and the wait began. We had other tables around us coming in, sitting down, ordering appetisers, mains, and desserts and then leaving. We tried to flag down wait staff but were ignored. People were ordering takeaways and the kitchen was pushing them out. We checked the time and it was 7.32pm (1 hour and 17 minutes since we had ordered) now we had a toddler and 2 pregnant women at the table who needed to eat, the toddler began throwing a tantrum and crying to which a waitstaff gave him a lolly - but still no food. We asked waitstaff about our food and were told soon soon, and this was throughout the 1 hour and 17 minutes wait. We were about to get up and walk out of this restaurant when they began to bring out the food so we all began to clap because ofcourse we were starving.
Now we love the food here and it's normally got the best spice levels however we ordered a hot spice level curry and it was very obvious that it was mild/medium because you could not tell the difference.
Overall don't book for larger groups at this restaurant and if you do expect your orders to be wrong, food quality to be less than and expect your wait time to be a minimum of an hour as they value takeaway customers over their dine in customers.
You've lost very very...
