Thai River — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

I went to collect my order and waited for about 5 minutes at the counter with another lady that was also waiting to be served as the workers just kept walking past us doing other things and ignoring us. The other lady and I just looked at each other as if to think why arnt we getting served. Finally 2 ladies came to the counter and only 1 asked if we were right I said that the other lady was first, she was served then I collected my order. I ordered a creamy seafood soup which l had never had before but looked amazing on the menu BUT when I got home it looked disgusting absolutely nothing like it did on the menu and actually tasted disgusting too. So so bitter I would not recommend this to anyone. I was very disappointed with this. I also ordered beef and oyster sauce stir fry which was very nice but I will add it had lots of vegetables and not much meat in it at all. So for my dinner that night I feel I wasted my money as I threw away the soup and just had alot of oyster vegetables and a very small amount of meat. I won't be going back here. My husband and I dined at Thai River on New Year's Eve. Service was excellent and the meal was superb. The spring rolls and curry puffs were the best I have ever tasted.

We have just dined again at Thai River to celebrate my birthday. It is the first time we have dined out since the start of the coronavirus pandemic seven months ago. For nearly 20 years my family and I have been coming here, and they never fail to disappoint. The food is freakin amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable, and it's local. Tonight was no exception - it was Friday night and Valentines Day - exceptionally busy. The staff handled it so well, doing their best and moving as quickly as they could with smiles, apologies for being rushed - not even their fault - absolutely professional and courteous. I'd give 10 stars if there was an option, but instead I'll just keep going...
