We recently booked & stayed at your accommodation to attend our son’s wedding at the weekend. We ate at your function room on Friday night & had a booking of 25 people , all ordering meals & spending money on drinks. The meals were good & night was enjoyable. We had 1 room for 2 nights & 2 rooms for 1 night. Our family travelling from interstate. There are 3 things that are non-negotiable in providing accommodation! A clean room , a comfy bed & hot running water. You have failed miserably on the later. I had a “cold shower” on Friday night & just put it down to maybe someone had used all the hot water or had forgotten to turn the heating unit on? When our other guests arrived on Saturday afternoon after travelling from interstate, hoping to have a hot shower before getting ready for the wedding, there was no hot water. My 80 year old mother-law ran the water for 10 minutes waiting for it to heat up! Some of our guests were forced to drive to other accommodation to have a shower & get ready. There were some minor issues with the room, the “child lock” was on the TV & the sound could not be turned down or the channel changed. We entering the room there were no tea cups or mugs, but there was ½ used milk in the fridge? I have sent this email to various address’s, with no reply. You either are not worried about your reputation or you...

I booked the side room to celebrate our fathers 70th birthday. He is hard of hearing, hence the need for a quiet room so he can participate in the conversation. I booked this 3 weeks in advance via phone and confirmed twice that we had this room

Half an hour before our booking time of 12:30pm I received a phone call asking us to not arrive until 1pm as they had overbooked and were at compacity. I said this was not ideal as we were already travelling there and it was a bitterly cold day to just hang around outside.

Once we arrived we were told we only had the table for one hour (after travelling 1.5hrs to get there) and were seated in the main dinning area between the kitchen and the bar.. The food took an hour to be ready after ordering so they graciously allowed us to stay over the one hour limit…

I am incredibly disappointed that after making sure our booking was approved and where we wanted to sit, that we were seated in what you could call a walk way having to adjust our chairs so wait staff and the public could get past. My father could not hold a conversation as it was so loud he couldn’t hear the person next to him.

For such a nice pub and location, it’s disappointing the staff can’t honour booking requests especially when you have followed up...

The food at the pub was magnificent! Good value, fresh, delicious. The experience, however, was appalling. Patrons that had booked a table were leaving without eating because the kitchen was understaffed. There were numerous announcements that no orders would be taken to give the kitchen a rest, multiple dishes ran out and the quote of the day was, ‘We have 160 bookings and only 2 chefs, I’m sure you’ll all understand.’ I’m not hospitality expert but I’m thinking if you have that many bookings you staff accordingly. There was no lemonade or lemon squash and we were forced to put all our orders on one bill as they ‘had run out of paper’ in the till. From the moment we got there, the staff (and I don’t mean all of them as many were just following orders) were rude and ruined a potentially lovely Mother’s Day. We had planned our visit to possibly book for a birthday party but there is no chance. Congratulations to the chefs, you were great and thank you to the poor staff that did such a good job in circumstances beyond...

Stopped in after our ride out to Gundaroo. Delighted by this place, was an excellent find, a real gem! As you walk in you find yourself walking into a cosy homestead with the wooden interior intricately woven throughout the building with old signage along the wall a bar greets you in the middle of entrance way. The friendly staff showed us to a table, gave us the full run down on the building and all it unique features, The food was amazing we ordered a large ham steak with lashing of sauerkraut, side of excellent potato salad and home made mustard. Second dish was Salmon fish cakes which were so delicate and packed full of flavour the tatar sauce added a touch of richness again that potato salad was delicious the whole meal was amazing this was a real treat will definitely head back here again.

My local pub, or should I say, used to be my local pub. The place is run by people barely old enough to serve alcohol. The atmosphere, of what was once the hub of Gundaroo is now a ghost town. Asked for a stubbie of Carlton Dry as you can't get it on tap and I get a warm stubbie as their fridges aren't working. When questioning the staff, I was made to feel it was my fault and still charged full price! Restaurant was empty at 810pm which suggests the food is obviously average. A shell of what it used to be, the new owners have no idea how to run an establishment in a small country town, I hope the landlord is happy with his decision, financially yes, but as far as serving the community, it is disgraceful, won't be back.

Gundaroo Colonial Inn you were such a lovely surprise. Heritage listed venue with so much history! All of the food was tasty and the service from the team was fantastic and everyone was so helpful with our order. Marley and the head chef were enchanting and so friendly, I forgot to take pictures... I guess we will be back! The steak burger was tasty!
