False advertising. Cafe 54 chips reads "large cone of seasoned chips" I had ordered a beef burger (they have a choice of chicken burger on Turkish bread, or beef burger on brioche) which come with a side of chips. When I asked if the side of chips was the same as Cafe 54 chips they said no, the side is plain chips so I ordered the Cafe 54 also at $8.50 as I love seasoned chips. Cafe 54 chips came out and were exactly the same plain chips as my side. When questioned about seasoned they said only wedges are seasoned & that the seasoning for the chips was simply salt or chicken salt if asked for. I stopped by Café 54 this week for the first time, and of course, I went straight for my usual favourite — a Dirty Chai. I ordered it with soy milk, and I have to say, it was perfectly balanced and full of flavour.
They use Bondi Chai, which I had never heard of before, but it truly surprised me — rich, smooth, and not overly spiced. A really enjoyable chai experience!
I didn’t get the chance to try the food this time, but the atmosphere seemed welcoming, and I’ll definitely be back for a full sit-down experience.
