Rhyme St Cafe Northgate — Restaurant in Hobart

This used to be the best place in the world a year or so ago. It's since gone down the drain in every way. The coffee was number one anywhere till it suddenly changed and is just yucky . I try it again every once in a while but it remains consistently yucky . I can't even describe it just doesn't even taste like coffee. And is served almost cold . The prices have gone through the roof . What used to be the price of a large is now the price of a regular..which is now not much bigger than a small size. The food is so expensive and so minimalistic that I can't even risk it. I can only really comment on the coffee and the service which has also gone down the drain. Staffed by mainly young girls who are very rude ...lack knowledge of their menu and some even struggle to speak English. You are judged and given the cold shoulder if you don't look upper class and spend up big on a regular basis. All round the experience is degrading and extremely disappointing . After a few months I tried a coffee again but that will have to be the final time I give them a chance . I cannot afford to throw away almost 10 dollars on a coffee that just makes me feel sick and can't drink...nor do I wish to be treated like some kind of low life . Please don't be sucked in by the good reviews. Be aware and be prepared to throw money away ..If you have it to waste. Wish there was an option...

I went to northgate cafe today around 3.30 pm.. the service staff was so rude.. there was a girl and she has no patience at all which is not acceptable.. She ignored us at first look and was sweeping the floor while we waiting for her.. I went with my partner and ordered a tropical punch and a hot chocolate first.. in your menu it has mentioned that all mocktails include a delicious juicy fruit pop but there was none.. also I tried to redeem the $10 gift voucher and she denied that as well though there has no restrictions properly mentioned regarding the redemption of voucher and it felt like cheap marketing.. sorry to say but really disappointed and not happy at all since it ruined our evening and we didnt want to order any food though we needed to order some. Staff are very pleasant. Food was pretty nice and the coffee was great.

Couple of weird things going on though and I just thought I'd make a couple of suggestions.

The menu is dense and I found it took a long time to locate what I felt like. I almost didn't come in just because I couldn't be bothered scanning it.

I ordered a burger which came out quickly but it was quite cold in parts and the chips burnt my mouth! I know I could've asked for another but I was in a hurry and it's not that big a deal. What was weird to me though is that it's served in a bowl? That made it difficult to eat with a knife and fork.

It's a nice place to sit and I think it feels nice and separate to the busy food court...
