KFC Sorell — Restaurant in Hobart

This location doesn’t seem to understand how to process online app orders properly. My husband went to pick one up tonight and they hadn’t even looked into the computer to check. People are getting food and served before us that just showed up, meanwhile it had been over 20 mins since we placed the order and waiting in the Drive thru and parking lot for over 10 mins. I go to call the manager to ask about it and why car after car is getting orders but not my husband. I get Ashton the manager on the phone who Immediately cuts me off to say my husband got his food and it hadn’t been that long. No apologies just a rude snarky come back. I’m explaining the app should make him skip the line and our order be ready but that’s not the case and why? She doesn’t let me finish and begins talking over me and not even listening to my Question. Tells me thats how the orders work they put them in when you get there. Then what’s the point? When I try to explain this was an issue before and I spoke with the store manager and it hasn’t been an issue in some time then she cuts me off again and begins raising her voice and talking over me. Asking if I’m trying to tell her how to do her job and if I know it better then her? No, this is what’s called a conversation. I wait for her to go quiet again and try to explain what it says on the app and why that’s confusing because we checked and it says on the app “they are making our food now” and I was cut off again and called rude and stupid and then hung up on. A simply apology for the long wait delay would have been enough. Or just listening to my point and hearing me out why it’s frustrating as a customer using the app when seems the store does it differently. You don’t always have to have the answer but listening and being kind especially in customer service goes a Long way. Especially for a manager. I honestly can’t believe I was talked to and treated in such an offense and horrible manner. Being brushed off, yelled at, called names and then hung up on. I did call back and she wouldn’t answer. (To find out her name) I finally called for a 3rd time now and she answered the phone whilst laughing. Apparently treating customers badly is a joke to her and to this location. I let her know it was very unprofessional and immature to hang up a call on a customer like that. She blamed ME for being rude. Moral of the story is that Sorell KFC doesn’t know how to receive and complete online orders. So don’t bother doing one. I sincerely do hope they update their procedures and training for This location in the future though. And that they fire such incompetent and nasty, rude people as well. DON'T ORDER DELIVERY THRU MENULOG - IT DOES NOT ARRIVE! FURTHER, MENULOG CONTINUES TO PROMISE DELIVERY OF LATE ORDERS: EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF DELIVERY. THEN, THEY PROMISE DELIVERY AFTER STORE HAS CLOSED: IMPLYING PROBLEM WITH STORE BEING BUSY, RATHER THAN THAT NONE OF THEIR MENULOG DRIVERS BOTHERED TO PICK UP THE CONTRACTED ORDER!

In Sorell, there are x3 pizza places; an Indian & a Chinese restaurant that have their own drivers... just stick to ordering from them directly. UNLIKE ORDERING FROM MENULOG: IT'S CHEAPER TO ORDER FROM THE SORELL RESTAURANTS DIRECTLY & AT LEAST YOUR ORDERS ACTUALLY ARRIVE!

Last weekend I put an order in with Menulog to deliver from McDonalds Sorell... I WAS FORCED TO CANCEL MY ORDER AFTER WAITING MORE THAN 5HOURS! JUST HAD MENULOG FAIL TO DELIVER FOR SECOND TIME...

IF MENULOG CANNOT PROVIDE DRIVERS IN THE SORELL REGION: THEN THEY SHOULD NOT ACCEPT [& BREACH] THE CONTRACT FROM BOTH STORES & CUSTOMERS RELYING ON THEIR PROMISED SERVICE!

FURTHER, IF MENULOG ACCEPTS A CONTRACT FOR AN ORDER THEY SUBSEQUENTLY BREACH & FAIL TO DELIVER? IT SHOULD BE STANDARD PRACTICE FOR MENULOG TO OFFER SOME RECOMPENSE FOR BREACH OF THEIR CONTRACT THRU NON SERVICE: PARTICULARLY GIVEN MENULOG's ADDITION OF A 10% SO-CALLED SERVICE CHARGE... PLUS INCREASING MENU ITEMS FROM STORE PRICES!

INSTEAD, 3 SEPERATE CHATS TO MENULOG REFUSED TO OFFER ANY RECOMPENSE FOR NON-DELIVERY... THEY SIMPLY DISCONNECTED CHAT, LEAVING NO RECORD TO SCREENSHOT!

So, this weekend, I put an order from Menulog to deliver from KFC Sorell. MY ORDER WAS PUT IN 95 MINS BEFORE STORE CLOSED & OVER AN HOUR BEFORE KFC STOPPED ACCEPTING DELIVERI... so there SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO PROBLEM WITH THAT DELIVERY, RIGHT?! The order was scheduled to arrive 45mins later, but was late.

Once it passed the delivery time, I contacted Menulog [every 10mins until the store closed], thru their 'chat' facility. I only have screenshot responses after 3rd contact, since I'd learned that when stumped the Menulog operators disconnected the chat, leaving you with no record of the chat!

The Menulog Chat answers were misleading & false.

Despite flagging the store's closure time, I WAS PROMISED DELIVERY ON EACH CHAT, MULTIPLE TIMES: including 7mins before store closed ... AND, BIZARRELY, ALMOST 30 MINS AFTER STORE CLOSURE? ... I WAS PROMISED DELIVERY TWICE - BY MENULOG CHAT OPERATOR ['Sreeram'] WHO HAD BEEN ADVISED THAT STORE WAS CLOSED [so 'Sreeram' asked me to wait for delivery he knew...

I'm not one to write not good reviews, but the service at the sorell KFC is absolutely disgusting!!

I have always tried to be understanding, as my first job was at McDonald's when I was a teenager. So i understand that often customers can be assholes and fast food staff are often abused. But each time I go to your establishment your staff can't even attempt to fake a smile and use basic, polite customer service skills. No hellos, thank you, your welcome, have a great day etc, nothing polite at all. The general drive through transaction is as follows - What can I get you or what would you like, then it follows with, is that all? That's X amount go to next window. Transaction window has the worker say nothing or at best, that's X amount and then they just assume your paying card and put the machine out the window. Then nothing, not even a recipt, they just close the window and walk away. Next window just has the staff shoving your order out the window to you, no checking your order was X, and then they shut the window and walk away.

Then on the occasions I've come into the store, the transactions are no different, except the staff member needs to look at your face. But they look at you with blank looks like your talking a different language half the time.

I know alot of your staff are juniors that possibly lack confidence, and it's clear that the younger generations don't have any initiative or common sense. But the managers in KFC Sorell are often not much better, it is very clear customer service skills are not something that is taught in the basic job training here.

Perhaps your on the job training needs some refreshing to remind and show the staff they are working a customer service job and that requires basic human...
