Tired on a whim and love it! When trying a new place me and hubby get a wide spread to see the quality and taste of the foods that are offered. We tired a few different rolls (we didn't try any of the black rice rolls but plan to in the future). We tired the soft shell crab roll , eel and salmon roll, a spicy chicken roll (spicy means spicy btw) a non-spicy chicken roll, a California roll and Imitation crab roll. All of them were very tasty and had both quality ingredients and a good quantity as well. They offer different types of sushi platters that you can order in advance and now knowing the quality of the sushi they make I would definitely try the platters now. They have sauces they sell on the side and we tired the spicy mayo (tasty with a kick) and not sure what it was called but was kinda like a flavourful bbq type sauce. We also grabbed a chicken katsu box meal and a Kaarage (can't remember the exact spelling) box meal. Both where the same as the sushi tasty and lacking neither quality or quantity. I'm used to going to places where you get rice, a smidgen or coleslaw and a few small pieces of chicken. So I was shocked to see not only the size of the chicken but also the amount I was given. And the price was very reasonable and the box on its own is very filling. We have gone back multiple times since the first time and both just gotten a box meal (I'm addicted to the Kaarage box) the slaw that comes in it isn't your regular mayo base slaw (which I love) but was lighter and is very pleasant. We also tried a couple of premade hot items they had there. We got a tub of tasty saucy noodles, veggie prawn fitter (also tasty) and omg tasty chicken skewers. As with everything else we tired there the skewers had both Q&Q. There was actually almost no space to hold the skewer without holding the chicken because it went from end to end. They're just chicken and are covered in some tasty sweet sticky sauce. Definitely would recommend giving them a try. They sell some other items in store like pocky and such. They also use less plastic then most other take-away sushi places I've been to. Most of the stuff we got came in or on a high quality cardboard container, for example the sushi and bbq sauce, cardboard bottom clear plastic top. The box meals, all cardboard and surprisingly enough the extra sauce from the chicken at the bottom, even after a 15-20 minute drive home hasn't soaked into the bottom and made it soggy. The sauce from the chicken is still dippable and the dressing from the slaw hasn't soaked in and is mixable still. Service was good. The only down side I can think of saying is that they're closed Sunday and Mondays. So I guess I just have to get my fix some other time in the week. Definitely recommend that you...
Read moreSushi Zanmai is honestly the best. Their food is amazingly well made, and tastes absolutely delicious, and the staff are really friendly and great. Note: a regular sushi roll is larger than at other places, so the price is actually very reasonable. I wish they were open just one evening so I could get dinner - they close just as I finish work, and I’m always wishing I could eat their meals of...
Read moreWe are regular customers and put take away order pretty much every week, never complained and food generally is always good. However, this Friday, we put a 200+ dollars order in, one of the fishes, the tuna roll was small pieces of tuna and it didn’t taste great or fresh. I am feeling a bit disappointed. The tuna quality was much better than this b4. Tired to call back but I guess the...
