Holdens Bakery — Restaurant in Hughenden

Get here early because they sell out fast. We missed out yesterday, only had 1 sausage roll left.

This morning as we were leaving around 8 am, it was really busy and we managed to get two pepper steak pies.

Never had a pie for breakfast before and I highly recommend it. The top pops off so you can add some tomato sauce!

The pastry was deliciously flaky and the filling was tender chunks of beef with a peppery sauce.

Best food option and coffee in town for breaky/lunch (we tried them all except for coffee cart by ag store). Bacon & cheese rolls were SO fluffy and fresh, best one I've had all trip. Sausage were rolls were pretty good. Coffee was good (best on our dino trail section of trip). Would recommend here over all the others places in town for an early day stop for any families. Their fresh cream Apple Turnovers were to die for, the prices were reasonable and the lady was very friendly. Unfortunately we found that the pies and sausage rolls let them down.
