Ruby's Cafe — Restaurant in Kyogle

I have bought food here previously. On these occasions, I found the food and service to be fine.

To say I was disappointed is understatement. On this occasion, I stood by and watched possibly the worst commitment to service that I have ever encountered. I watched a staff member assemble a toasted sandwich. It took this individual nearly ten minutes to prepare a sandwich before he slowly walked over to sip his drink, then walked back to the preparation area. He then dawdled over to the toaster. Another five minutes went by, and my work commitment neared, and I left.

His complete disinterest in the work was beyond belief. I also noticed that he even managed to get the order wrong.

If this individual has no interest in delivering timely service, he should find something else to do.

I am sure someone will say it was a busy morning. True, but other staff worked efficiently to deliver orders.

Please don’t listen to any negative reviews of stuck up city slickers who no doubt don’t have the guts to raise their concerns about their food and drinks with the staff and go on here to damage small businesses with negative reviews!! this place is the bees knees for a fast food diner, nothing flash (keeps the cost of food down which is awesome!) but ticks all the boxes in the taste and freshness department!! My partner and I had a chicken, cheese and bacon burger each with added salads on it, hot chips, a battered sav (sausage) And 1.25ltr coke, Ps By far the best hot chippies in town I might add!!!!! I have been an ongoing patron of this cafe as it has changed hands over the years. Through this time I have found the chips here to be the best intown, the service is always friendly (shout out to Tom who had a smile that could light up a room and a blisteringly fast service time) and the food is always cooked well.

I have also noticed that the new employees are always treated with respect within the team.

My only real downside is that the chip servings are a little small.

Edit 22.3.20: I bought a snack box and some chicken nuggets today. I noticed that the chip serving I recieved was larger than expected and the Chicken ?nuggets/bites? were easily the best I have ever had and I don't say that lightly. I will be going back for...
