Lake Cathie Tavern — Restaurant in Lake Cathie

I absolutely love this pub! It is so good, the staff are always super friendly and nice, always up for a chat and making me feel welcomed. However there is one manager Andrew was his name was really quite rude. When asked what time they close he couldn’t give us an answer. We were playing the pokies and he just kept walking past saying okay guys take it out soon each time he walked past. We weren’t intoxicated or causing any problems. When we asked what time they closed he was so rude and said whenever you get off the machine, stating that all the staff were waiting for us however when speaking with the staff they had no problems with us being there. Again he walked past we asked when are you closing so we know and he wouldn’t give us an answer was just straight up rude. We never have any problems with Cathie pub, it’s our local and I love it and all the staff and great food but unfortunately this individual has really ruined it for us. I must say every time I’ve been there and this Andrew manager guy is on, he never looks happy and is always so rude customers. Great renovation just a Shame the food can’t live up to the Décor. Waited 1 hour for food (don’t mind waiting if the food is worth the wait )my sons turned up prawn linguine it was ok I ordered directly after him but waited another 20 mins to then find out my order wasn’t put through? My garlic bread sat under the warmer for 30 mins but no pasta ? When it did come out you could see and taste they had just chucked plain pasta and a few prawns in a bowl, no taste at all. Our friends on the same table where still waiting on prawn pasta also, when hers arrived it was worse than mine. Very disappointing and we were not the only people...

Staff were really friendly . We had 4 meals . All great except the Thai beef salad which i immediately sent back . Absolutely appalling . Iceberg lettuce heart with slimy cucumber 2 cherry tomatoes and sweet chilli sauce . Not what was on the menu description . When I took it back the chef DID NOTHING , I mentioned to the bar manager he said , oh yes we have been having trouble with the Thai beef salad . No oh gosh I’m sorry here is a refund !!
