After being awake and traveling for 17 hours, whilst staying at the Villa's, Bolters Grill was a perfect option for my Mum and I to have dinner together while my brother slept in the room, we were tired, wanted dinner and didn't want to have to drive anywhere. We arrived at Bolters at opening time, 5:30pm, from the moment we walked in the door the lovely woman working was absolutely amazing. The food was on the pricey side (especially from what we are used to), but between the quality of the food and the customer service we received, every cent was worth it. Nothing was too much for our wonderful waitress or the other staff member that we dealt with twice. The meals came out in such a timely manner and was just perfect. She spoke so passionately not only about the food but spoke with such a joyous and welcoming attitude to my Mum and I the entire night. There was a couple of families that came in, even the small children playing was not an inconvenience for her, and the way she spoke to my Mum and I was the same way she spoke to these young children when they asked for a drink and their food, and that unfortunately isn't a common occurrence in this day and age. Could not fault it in...
Read moreWould 100% recommend and we will be going back. Both wife and I ordered porterhouse steak and it came out perfectly cooked medium and medium rare as ordered. Was juicy and tender and sides were just as good.
We were (I assume) purposefully positioned near the children’s corner which was great for our 2 year old. The staff were friendly and checked in while we were eating (but not in an annoying overbearing way). Other children were playing quietly. Previous comments ^^ about rowdy children we felt were a little unfair as you cannot judge a restaurant for that. You can have rowdy children at any restaurant table and you were probably that little annoying child once!!!
Tables were well spaced, tables cleared around us were well cleaned and all staff were masked and appeared to be very COVID safe.
We walked through the pizzeria bar section on the way out and saw an amazing looking woodfire pizza oven and a pizza being constructed with handmade dough! Coming from the mainland we have missed good pizza so we will definitely be coming here for our next pizza night!
Thank you to everyone for a...
Read moreWell the place was so loud I wanted to leave before I even sat down. But had been driving and I hospital seeing family all day and wasn’t driving again. Ordered (prior to a massive table of like 50 that were so loud!) It took 1 hour to get our food and when I got it, it was undercooked beans, cabbage & a few hard undercooked broccolini stands. With my salmon. No potato, sweat potato or pumpkin?! So weird. I only ate the salmon & the cabbage as the rest was raw vegetables. Husband’s steak was burnt on the outside and he said over salted. He had the same diabolical vegetables also but at least he got chips! I didn’t get any option. Such a disappointment. Then we asked to take our desserts back to the room as it was like a loud house in there! Berries on my cheesecake were dead, and the apple crumble had a cup of cinnamon in it basically! Just very subpar food. Won’t return. Bolters Grill. The only 1 good thing was the lady servers. That’s it. I couldn’t even hear my husband talking to me...
