F&B: Simple uaual menu and Weekly Special Gozen Bento menu. Omakase menu is for Dinner only (~$80pp, book 2 days in advance). Very good presentation. Aceptable prices. Good portion. Good quality of food. Ichirin Bento, $34: There are 4 Nigiri sushi (3 salmon +1 king fish), 6 little Uramaki Rolls (salmon & avocado), 1 small Sweet Egg Omelette, 3 big Karaage Chicken, Salad, Miso Soup (as usual with 3 small silky tofu cubes), 1 Takoyaki, 1 Tempura Eggplant, 4 Edamame, and pickled ginger & wasabi. Karaage Chicken was absolutely gorgeous - big chunks, crispy outside and juicy inside, just slightly oily. Takoyaki was superb. Salad with 3 pcs of well-roasted beef, but green leaves were a bit wilted. --- 8.7/10 Goyza, $11/6pc: Pork filling werw slightly salty for my liking. --- 7/10 Assorted Nigiri, $30/6pcs + miso Soup: very fresh scallop, king fish, and tuna. Tuna was beautiful and not chewy. --- 8.5/10
Service: Reservation for a weekday lunch. To be seated indoors. A jar of water and menu were already placed on the table. Japanese chef's greeting as usual Japanese restaurants. One waitress served us mainly and took orders at the table. Food served in reasonable time. The male kitchen hand forgot giving me miso soup, we needed to remind him (he looks like a new staff). Paid at the cashier. --- 7.3/10 2022: 4 stars Venue: plenty of carpark in the quiet region. Limited seats. Booking is highly recommended. Open kitchen. Very packed indoors. Minimal decoration. Sitting at the branch top and small tables. Or dine outdoors with shelter. --- 6.5/10 2022: 4 stars Service: Japaneses run restaurant. The wait persons can speak Japanese. All of them were very polite and considerate, moved fast. Bottle of water was provided. Food served fast. BYO. --- 7.4/10

Read moreHave only just recently discovered Ichirin and been there a couple of times and am looking forward to dining there regularly in future. It may be a distance to travel if you dont live south of the river but well worth the travel. This place serves the best and most authentic Japanese food in Perth by far. Prices are reasonable compared to other establishments serving similar dishes. The seafood is so fresh and so skillfully prepared to present the utmost in flavour and texture that every melt in the mouth bite leaves you craving for more. Ordered alacarte on the first visit and the salmon otoro , scallop aburi ,sashimi carpaccio, softshell crab kakiage and beef tataki were outstanding. Would have ordered more dishes if there was more space for it. The blackboard specials looked very tempting as well and observing what was being ordered by other patrons the bento meals etc were generously portioned , immaculately presented and looked delicious. Ordered the Omakase on the second visit, and booked for the 530 seating. The timing of service was well paced and in spite of ordering 2 extra items from the alacarte menu the meal was completed with 10 minutes to spare before the 730 seating. The dishes were exquisitely presented and the quality, taste ,flavour and texture of every ingredient served was flawless. The freshness of the seafood was again the distinctive feature . The duck breast and eel (unagi) were uniquely presented - nothing i have ever experienced or tasted(not even in Japan). The place is small , minimalist in decor, and casual ,simulating a typical Japanese Izakaye style setting . Chef Shiro prepares and presents each dish to make you feel like an exclusive diner and the small number of patrons makes this possible so i hope the place remains as it is even though it will be increasingly difficult to get in as it becomes more popular. A true gem in this hidden corner of Perth for a must try dining experience which will leave lovers of Japanese cuisine and seafood coming...
Read moreFood 3-4/5. Most things tasted good, I think the carpaccio was the best dish, chutoro okay, assorted sashimi ok (little bit thin), scallop aburi also ok, miso egglant also just ok, octopus karaage was the worst. We ordered rice as well as miso soup per person and were still hungry after our meal so went to get more food at another place as soon as we were done.
Service 1-2/5. The staff were nice but service EXTREMELY slow! We had a 5:30pm booking, wasn’t able to make an order for half an hour as all the staff were busy (mostly dealing with many takeaway bentos) and we didn’t get our last dish until 7:10pm. We didn’t go for the omakase but so glad we didn’t as the couple next to us getting their omakase still had 2 more dishes to go after we had our last dish out.
I was really looking forward to the place so it probably added to my disappointment. Unfortunately won’t be returning due to the heartbreak 💔 I was so excited when we were ordering and got sadder throughout the night when food took forever to appear. I was eating soy sauce and wasabi on rice at one stage because the food was so slow and I was so hungry… We were too scared to order more food because it would take even longer...
