The Gourmet Gecko Cafe — Restaurant in Lightning Ridge

Absolutely disgraceful. I went in with a friend to get a couple of bacon and egg rolls for a nice breakfast and was thoroughly disappointed with what came out of that kitchen. Not only did they have two staff members on but they were both out the back. After ordering my breakfast I went to sit down for a few minutes before wanting a bottle of water. So I went to the fridge to grab one and waited patiently at the counter for one of the two workers to come out so I could pay. I rang the bell they had placed on the counter a total of five times to no answer and a wasted five minutes of my time. Shortly after the worker that served us brought the food in takeaway bags which was not how we ordered it at all. I would never recommend going to this cafe even if your life depended on it. Came here with my sister as she really wanted an acai bowl and they're her favourite. When we received it, it was nearly completely melted and it wasn't enjoyable for her to eat at all. I took it back and explained we only received it a few minutes prior and should be served frozen. The employee I spoke to told me that they can't remake it as it costs too much money to the business and couldn't offer me a refund. They blamed the heat on it not being served how it should be. Hot weather or not, it is a food item that should be served frozen much like ice cream, and it is completely unprofessional to not remake or refund a product you can't provide properly. We visited on Tuesday 28th March and so very happy we did. We had a friend visit us and decided to go out for breaky. The price is very reasonable and cheapest in town. The service is fabulous, cheary & didn't take long to get our 3 breakfast orders. 2 of us ordered the G.G Breaky and it was fantastic and so Big all for $22, great value. 2 Eggs, lot's of bacon, mushrooms, Sausage, Hash Brown & 2 pieces of toast. 👌 I had Scrambled Eggs with Ham on a English Muffin with Hollandaise Sauce.
