Visited this bakery many times in past years and it was always a delight and worth the half hour or so drive. They used to have amazing foccacia sandwiches and really nice sweets and pastries and really really yummy pies. Based on that I visited again recently with my partner hoping for a similar experience but we were both highly confused and dissapointed. We both walked in, within seconds I could see it was different......barely anything appetising to look at available.......but regardless we still had a look. Pretty much immediately I felt a bit uncomfortable.... The woman behind the counter just did not look happy at all to be there or serving customers and when I seen the sandwiches were plain white bread simple one or two ingredients that I could get nicer from the servo.....I instantly decided I didn't want to purchase anything....she did say can I help you and we responded that were having a look but not yet decided......she seemed a bit mehhh in response and just looked unhappy. I also had another older lady just looking annoyed we were in the store and I swear if I just didn't get out of there she would have mopped me along with the floors......even when the woman behind the counter spoke to the woman whom was mopping the floor.....communication between the two of them just seemed unpleasant.....I just stepped outside and went back to the car to let my partner decide......I don't know how much longer.....but a little while after he met me at the car and had just bought a chicken and mayo sandwich as he was quite hungry.......I was determined to make the trip worth it so I scoped out the area and stumbled across the logan village bakehouse instead and I purchased my lunch there. They were much more like the bakery I remember this one being like and they had much better higher quality bakery items available and I will admit, the bahn mi I got there was absolutely awesome. My partner dissapointed.......put his chicken mayo sandwich aside and also repurchased a lunch for himself instead from the logan village bakehouse and got a ham and salad roll for a similar price but clearly worth it. Sad to say, we will still drive out to logan village for a bakery trip.... But we just won't be going here anymore......logan village bakehouse has one us over. Hopefully whatever is going on here doesn't affect business too much because such fond past great experiences visiting here growing up. Would hate to see it go to waste. I've read a few of the other reviews and it seems something just not right.....customer service being terrible and throwing pies reviewed by others seems a bit much. Sincerely fingers crossed these reviews help turn this place around or it's just a fluke here and there. Did really...
Read moreVisited here Monday 17/2/25. Food was delicious ! But three stars due to the service. Whomever was serving that day a youngish girl with brown hair thinks its okay to laugh and smirk at customers mocking other customers. I was lined up waiting for two other customers who took some time as they made many purchases. I have Hypoglycemia and could feel an episode come on and wanted to purchase something sugary. In that time a few more customers came in and I was feeling a bit off so stood back to have a cool drink and rummage through my bag for a lolly. In that time the previous customers had finished up. I told all the other customers to go in front of me as I was a bit confused at that stage and planned on going to sit down outside to collect myself. One young woman who was lined up then started shrugging her shoulders and making screwed up faces and made weirdo/crazy hand gestures mocking me as she was walking up to the counter. The girl serving her started quietly giggling at her mocking gestures towards me and nodded as she did her werido gestures. I stated I was only being polite because I feel sick. Feeling humiliated I left. I know that many illnesses do not appear on the outside, and when people are having a medical episode they may appear as strange or odd. But perhaps before staff join in mocking other's they shouldn't judge, as never know what could be going on. I love coming here for their food particularly their salad rolls. But will not return again to an establishment who think it's funny to mock...
Read moreI'm sorry guys but as much as I love patronising your shop this is the third time I've had to tell your staff there are maggot laden blow flies crawling over the food in the cabinets.
A few months ago I found a long hair in my salad roll and the boss was good about giving me a refund and apologising but still no hair nets on the female staff and the cabinets are still being left open so of course the flies get in still, like today.
They've got some really great food products but with the flies crawling around on them...it's hit and miss of you get some maggots or a fly stuck in your custard donut.
This will be the last time I visit, and it's disappointing but necessary. There's only so many times you can point out to the staff the flies and keep getting ignored before you have to think about your own health and safety.
Until you guys get hair nets on your female staff, keep the flies out of the cabinets and take peoples complaints seriously....you just lost me and my family as a customer and I'll be warning people I know who ask about your shop to buy at...
