The venue is a nice, clean good looking building, that's why it's a 2 star and not 1. Other than that the rest of the experience was lack luster.
About 5-10 mins at the door with no acknowledgement, finally someone came up, asked for a table for 2 and was told just around the corner. So really there's no point in waiting and having to prove you're not a biological weapon just walk in and pick an empty table as no one takes you to your table or even bothers to tell you that the menu is online and you can pay online.
Garlic bread was undercooked, kid you not, it was warm bread I'm not sure how you manage to not toast garlic bread. You get better garlic bread from pizza hut. We managed to get our garlic bread before our 2 drinks. I can see how that's possible when you simply warm the bread but still drinks should have been out in the first few mins considering it was not busy at all.
25 mins for main meals to come out, chicken schnitzel and pasta, 2 pretty easy dishes when only 1/3 of the place had people in it and most were already eating. Chips were undercooked and under seasoned. Schnitzel was alright but nothing amazing and definitely not worth the price. Carbonara was honestly worse than carbonara that you buy from Woolworths in the fresh meals section and heat up for 2 mins. When I first started eating I honestly thought it was a frozen meal deforested. The sauce was thinner than olive oil. The pasta itself had been broken into short lengths making it very difficult to spin around a fork, almost impossible. The parmesan cheese had 0 flavour along with the bacon and chicken. The sauce flavour was terrible, again thinking back to the flavour of a cheap frozen carbonara that has decent freezer burn. I'm not a very picky eater if it's bad I'll still eat it and just be disappointed but this meal I actually stopped eating about 1/3 of the way through and didn't want anymore because nothing about it was enjoyable.
The lemon lime bitters was ok. First time being there and was driving past thinking about dinner and decided to quickly turn in seeing how nice the outside was. Doubt I'll ever be back. Starter, carbonara and schnitzel with a jug of drink was 75$+ and for that much money I can actually go and eat in a restaurant such as Corbet and Claude and have really good food. Go to fitzys if you're after a pub meal. Or...
Read moreVery disappointed.
After moving to the area in December the 1st 2 meals we had there were great and I thought to myself how great a cute little tavern so close to where we live great value and nice meals.
The last time we went which was earlier in the year my mother in laws steak was supposed to be well done but blood was oozing out of it. I get you can send it back but we were already waiting long enough and we like to eat as a family as they had come down from Toowoomba and she doesn’t like to make a fuss.
Thought we would give it another chance so went in tonight. The customer service was very poor. I heard the lady serving the lady in front of me say “well that’s why I asked if there was more then one meal”. Very rude.
Again we took our in-laws up for a meal. My mother in law ordered the 300g rump and garlic prawns special and specifically was looking at the special board whilst ordering. She got the rump and asked politely where the prawns were the lady said “oh I thought you wanted the normal rump” which she specifically said the special rump and asked how big the 300g rump was.
Again the well done rump was undercooked (I took a photo this time) Not as bad as last time but definitely not well done. I was embarrassed to bring my in laws here again for second chance but we will just make the extra drive to Browns Plains Hotel the customer service there and food is so amazing. No matter what they always make our dinner comfortable and enjoyable.
One of the chefs also had a mask on. Got me thinking is she sick and she is preparing food.? My steak knife had fluff on it too which wasn’t pleasant.
Also the kids play room never has any chalk for chalk board and Games are always broken. It needs updating.
I really hope things change with food and customer service but for now we won’t be...
Read moreMade a booking for My mother's birthday for 9 people. Made a note on the booking that we had a vegetarian guest with us. Rocked up to the restaurant and was greeted by a rude waitress who informed me there was no such booking. After showing her our email she said she would make a table for us.
We placed our orders. The drinks came out and the cc & dry ordered came out with no ice and lime. The rude waitress said it was our fault we didn't select it on the app. The app only let's you remove it. It automatically comes with ice and lime. Instead of replacing the drink, she brought out a seperate glass with slices of lime and ice to put in the drink ourselves.
Our food then came out. We ordered vegetarian spring rolls and confirmed with the waitress that they were vegetarian before taking the plate from her. After taking a bite, we instantly knew they were the duck ones. No apology from the Chef, just an "Oh, I just made you the duck ones without checking". That is ridiculous. What if we were allergic.
Our steaks came out well done and burnt when we ordered medium to medium rare. Our chips and vegetables were cold and the vegetarian burger was missing sauce.
The waitress then brought out replacement vegetarian spring rolls and asked who they were for. We said we didn't want them as we got the duck ones prior and we were put off. She proceeded to say to us "Oh I heard." No sorry or anything.
We ordered a bottle of prosecco, only to have to go and ask where it was because it didn't come. The order was sitting printed in the machine. The waitress was too scared to pop the bottle so had to wait for that too.
Service was disgusting. Food was horrible and it seemed to be our fault the entirety.
Would not recommend.
The only one that was apologetic and had a...
