I was a regular customer at the Meadowbrook store, I ate there every week, however I was so disappointed by the service I received on my last visit.
First, I was confused why they served my favourite dish without vegetables, which it usually always did, and which had them in the menu photos. Turns out Wara Sushi thought it was a good idea to downgrade my favourite dish by 'blending' all of the vegetables into the sauce instead of serving them whole like usual. They did this without updating their menu photos to match.
When trying to respectfully give feedback that the dish is worse that way and it's not what I'd paid for, the staff told me they will not accept any feedback and I should contact head office??? I'm the customer of the specific store, I don't expect to have to understand your business model and contact a 'head office' in order to convey my feedback. I'd expect the venue to accept my feedback and THEY can communicate it internally however they need to internally. This was an unprofessional response from the store staff and is not how 'hospitality' is supposed to be.
Having taken the store's unhelpful response however, I DID go home and write two separate emails to their head office via the website. This was now FIVE DAYS ago and I have never had an email or phone call back at all - nothing.

Read moreWe have been coming to Wara Sushi for the better part of three months now, every Tuesday night, five of us, spending upwards of $100 on food and drink. The food has always been excellent. A little more expensive than other sushi restaurants, but good sized portions and tasty food. However over the past four weeks we have experienced deplorable customer service, extra 'unexplainable' amounts of money added onto our bill, running out of most things we've ordered and not telling us until they coincidentally close the kitchen (half an hour early) so we can't order anything else, rudeness and poor attitudes. Last night was the tip of the iceberg. We turned up at 814pm ready to sit down and order. The waiter told us the kitchen is closed, you can only take food off the train, all of which had been hygenically uncovered. We asked why the kitchen was shutting early as last orders were usually at 830pm and they don't shut till 9pm. We were given no explanation, just told sorry the kitchen is closed. Unfortunately this place wasn't up to scratch. Not only was the food on the train stale all meals were swimming in sauce and very rick and sickly ! As we attended at 730pm I am thinking that most of the meals were made throughout the day and had sat there for over 10 hours. I left feeling sick and $50 lighter in the pocket for something that wasn't enjoyed at all. It definitely didn't have a fresh feel and sushi is somewhat meant to be healthy in my understanding this was not the case . Quite a few dishes had stale corn flakes on top and a lot had cheese on them . I have frequented quite a lot of sushi trains over the years and this was the only place that had cheese on there sushi and it was cheese slices not quality cheese.
