Lyndoch Hotel — Restaurant in Lyndoch

I went to the Lyndoch Hotel last night with my husband. We waited over an hour for our meal and noticed that other people came in after us and also ordered their meals after us but received their meals while we were still waiting. I had ordered drinks when we first arrived and was hesitant to ask the waitress where our meals were as she was so rude at the bar when I ordered the drinks and even got angry at the fact I asked for a bottle of water because she didn't have one in the fridge. I did finally go to the bar and spoke to the other waitress there and said we had been waiting for over an hour. She said she would find out what had happened to our food but we waited for quite a while and saw that she hadn't left the bar. My husband was angry and went up to the bar and again asked where our food was. She reluctantly went to the kitchen and came out again and then a while later came out with the food and threw the food down in front of us with a mean scowl on her face and stormed off. I heard the people at the next table complaining about the rudeness of the two waitresses and they also then commented to me about the way the waitress had delivered the food and that it was appalling service and not a way to treat customers. The food was also expensive and mediocre so if you want good service and good food at a reasonable price stay away from The Lyndoch Hotel because you won't get it there. Absolutely appalled by my families experience. Ruined a family members 30th birthday! Made a booking with a gentleman for The One Resteraunt at the Lyndoch Hotel, called at a later date to double check it was booked and a female confirmed that we were booked for The One. Pull up on the night, resteraunts pitch black and closed. Call to double check we are at the right location for The One resteraunt as it looks closed, female advised that The One resteraunt is inside the hotel. Go inside and it's a Bistro. No Veg, Salad and Dessert Buffet, Bistro menu not resteraunt. Asked what was going on, was advised the resteraunts closed in winter. Doesnt say it closes or is closed on the website, spoke to three different people on three separate occasions and not one said it'd be closed, instead we were mislead. Travelled a long way so sat down to a meal. Salmon was funky and wasnt comfortable eating it and beef cheeks were drowned in a soup of liquid and full of fat, more fat than meat. Wasn't pleasant. 4 of the diners didn't eat. Nothing wrong with pub meals however we wouldn't of travelled all that way for a pub meal especially one that's inedible. Great service. I ordered the Margherita pizza GF no garlic. It was cooked to perfection it really hit the spot. It is exactly how I expect my margherita pizza to be, piping hot, the perfect amount of herbs, cheese, pizza sauce and juicy fresh slices of tomato. The gluten free base is the best I have had in a long time. My son really enjoyed his pizza too hes special needs and is VERY particular with his pizza being customed to his liking. They have allways got this right and its a big deal. We are aware pizza can take longer than other meals as they are popular and so we order in advance when ordering take away allowing 40min just in case. Usually it comes out quicker than expected. My Husband, Father & Uncle were also very happy with their meals tonight when we dined in. They ordered schnitzel and parmigiana they will be back for another schnitzel night.
